Thanks!
Thanks!
The keys are programmed via VIN#... so if you need them to start it, no. If you just need them to unlock/lock the doors/trunk, I believe you can buy any key fob and program it.
Re: Cheap keys?
I bought an extra one on ebay for $35. I just have to get it cut.

Godd luck getting it cut, and getting it to start your car. That programming procedeure is only for the locks.
Buran buy the key, and I will program it.

Borican, I think this thread might help you a bit more.

To summarize for you:
The thread Shawnkey wrote, is for programming keys that you bought from the dealer. Some dealers charged unsuspecting owners to program the key. Shawnkey's thread shows how to avoid that charge by doing it yourself.

- An ebay fob will never start your car.
- An ebay fob may not be able to be programmed to open your cars locks remotely

Re: Cheap keys?
Can be programmed to open and close doors but each key has to match your cars vin to start it. My key came and was told it needed to be programmed to use keyless entry. Laughed at the tech and said it can be done at the car for free to which he replied that he'd buy me lunch if i could do it. Best tasting olive garden ever.
Re: Cheap keys?
I have a 2004 Crossfire and I replaced the battery and now my radio looks like its working but I have no sound. I have tried the pushing the open buttons 2 times and waiting for 30 seconds but I still have no sound. I have called my dealership and they are not the smartest people on the face of the earth. They told me to buy a new key. What am I doing wrong?

I thought there might be a fuse that blew or a code you had to program into the radio but I can't find anything in my manual and the dealership has no clue.
It wuoldn't hurt to check all of your fuses. The fuse box is under the hood, right in front of the driver, up against the firewall. Check each fuse for continuity with a multimeter, as a visual check can be misleading. There should also be a fuse built into the head unit, but that's a lot harder to get to.
Wait a sec... if the radio appears to be working (displays numbers and such, feeds and ejects discs) but you're just not getting any sound, it is probably not a problem with the head unit, it is probably with the amplifier! Check the connections to the amp - they might have come off. And check the fuse on the amp. The amp is beneath the carpet (and a panel) where your passenger's feet would be if they extended their legs all the way.
