1 I dont brag. most of my friends drive faster cars than me
2 Im not denying anything. I fully deserve that speeding ticket
3 Incognito, I think ur pretty much a heartless @hole who should learn that people are human and when you see a clean record let me know my sticker is out of date rather than cite me for it immediately. I know u have the right to do it. I have the right to shoot anybody on my property (castle law here in TX) but does that mean I should? no I should show judgement and if somebody made a mistake and wandered onto my lawn I'm not gunna kill em over it. I made a mistake and didnt have an up to date inspection. grow up and learn to not be such a heartless jerk. maybe you wont get banned from the forums AGAIN. just a thought. thats all I have to say to you, I'm just gunna ignore the rest of your posts

anyways to all the ppl telling me to own up to my mistake... um I DID........... I just was complaining about the cop giving me that citation for my barely expired state inspection

oh ya I wasn't justifying the doing 60 I was just pointing out I had done the math and it would save me plenty of time to speed, unlike nox? I think it was, said

Car is taken away.

My parents would make me pay for the speeding ticket myself (as they should) but I'm doing teen court instead so I dont have to pay. As for the inspection, they arent making me pay for that because even they said I dont normally do that. In fact when I first got my car they told me not to worry about it because my dad takes care of it for ALL 4 of our cars.
Real sob story I tell ya! Kid, when I was your age, I was on the Bering Sea, thousands of miles from my responsibilities, but I still took care of my business.

I think the second one might hav to do with me being a 17 year old little white kid and him being black. might just be me. but that second one seemed unreasonable. jerk. I'm not being racist, several of my good friends are black. I'm just saying this cop seemed to me to be a little more than unreasonable and thats the most apparent thing I can think of. it was my very first offense for crying out loud! I was extremely respectful too, plenty of "sirs" and "that was extremely stupid it won't happen again"s and he just said "yeah, sure" and wrote me up for both! I almost cried right then. my parents took my car away.

my history textbook has a term for situations where minorities discriminate against whites: "reverse racism". I think "reverse" dilutes the term. call it what it is... strait up racism
No, it's called "speeding". Grow up.

Otherwise i just go get it renewed and show up in court. Way for him to jug up our legal system with pointless cases like this. He could have just told me "your inspection sticker is expired. I'll let you off this time, go get it taken care of." He took my phone number down and pulled me over right in front of my house. He waited till i pulled into my garage to leave...... he knows where I live and how to contact me. He could come by tomorrow and check my inspection sticker if he wanted (I got it inspected right after that)
If your Dad is at fault let him pay the ticket. If what you say is true about the "60 days expired" and you only have to go to court to make it go away, then the cop was just teaching you a "life lesson". It's a subtle reminder that certain things have to be done to comply with the law. It's all part of growing up no matter what age you are. I would suggest you stay on your best behavior whenever you're in his jurisdiction. You certainly don't want to be labeled a "slow learner". It could get expensive.

Complaining about things with in your control is pointless. You were speeding and got a citation, seems you have take responsibility for that. Your inspection was not current and the officer cited you again, not the officers fault. The only two people you should be upset with are your dad and yourself. He allowed the tag to laps and you were speeding, playing the race card is unwarranted. Glad your paying attention in school, just learn when to apply your leanings to real life situations.

I don't want to be an ******* here, but like everyone's said: It's called responsibility.

I'm 18, and I'm white. Last year on my Christmas vacation, I got pulled over (by a white, 19 year old) for doing 80 in a 55 (and my papers/registration were all in check). I then spent my ENTIRE Spring Break doing community service (cleaning up public restrooms, picking up trash, etc.) with county FELONS. Orange jumpsuit and all. The ticket itself was $550.00 AND I had to pay for my own legal fees to represent me in court. Where I live (as I was a minor), and because it was a State Trooper, court was Mandatory. I then had six months probation.

I know at least have a better understanding of my responsibilities as a driver and for the laws in general. Welcome to a democracy.

It happens, man. I won't say you got off easy, but... you did. It could have been far worse, and maybe this will give you a new respect for the law. If not, I know a Spring Break vacation for you for next year.

Stop whining, suck it up, and move on in life...

AGAIN to all the people telling me to grow up and accept responsibility for the tickets... I did lol

Im not arguing the speeding ticket I deserved it so stop telling me to grow up and accept the speeding ticket

its the inspection ticket that annoys me. the cop was pretty rude and a total jerk is all. he acted like I was a complete idiot for having my inspection 15 days past.

and I'll say this again. my parents did offer to pay foe the inspection ticket until they found out we just show up at court and show that I have up to date insurance and they drop the case.

and who can say that my being a 17 year old white male helped my case whatsoever with a black cop? I live in Texas and every black I know still has a chip on their shoulder about slavery. its not right but its 100% true. seems like they should get over it, seeing as they havent been slaves in over 150 years... race shouldnt be a factor, but all the politicians of race seem to play the race card. its juvenile, but it wins them votes from their "fellow blacks" or "fellow Hispanics"

I don't want this to turn into a political discussion, and any obama supporter might wanna close their ears if it does. I have very strong political views. now I'm going to be told I can't because of my age. feel free to pm me about what I think if ur interested or think I can't know much about politics

on the bright side, I get a pretty nifty t-shirt from my friend. he gives em to anybody the first time they get a ticket. its like those athletic shirts that say "Cistercian Football" or "Cistercian Track" or whatever, except it says "Cistercian Auto Racing" hah (the name of the school I go to is Cistercian)

I see you have been going to the school of nascarhp , so there is no need to discuss race or politics with you here. Please post in the Politics section to express your opinions on such topics, thanks.

Been there done that, might happen again. As far as I can tell about 95% of the people on the road are speeding most of the time, at least here in Mn they do. If you play, you will pay.
Speeding= ticket
late inspection= ticket
late tabs= ticket
Racism! No excuse

Like I said earlier. I would not cite you just for the inspection. But once you do something blatant enough to make me take 20 minutes to pull you over and do paperwork, I am going to take care of business. Every officer has someone they answer to. I do what my Sheriff asks. I don't like staying after my shift to talk to the Sheriff and explain why I didn't cite an expired inspection. I'm not the one who screwed up, you are. You should get all the grief, not me. I've been called a lot of names in the line of duty. Most of the time, I'm insulted if you don't cuss me. If you leave a traffic stop happy, I didn't do my job.

teXfire71,

do you live in texas? or is that like a tennessee "te" i don't know. either way, in texas you have 10days from citation to get your car either registered or inspected (whichever was the offense at the time) and mail in proof to the city, they will then expunge the ticket for that.... in your case, inspection. if you are in texas i would do that, if not then look into it and see if your city has that.

Nice...............welcome back

What about those of us who are willing to take responsibility for our actions and are respectful and take our medicine like men? While we wont be jumping for joy, we are surely not expecting the "law enforcement officer" to go out of his way to **** us off.

If you treat everyone that way, are you sure that you are in the right line of work? I cannot imagine any of my co-workers, friends and family members who are/were police officers would ever have that as their standard operating procedure. I hope that you were only trying to exaggerate a point.

Of course, the above only applies to minor violations that haven't endangered anyone. Any reckless acts, violence, or evading should be met with a major beat down ( outside the view of a video camera of course ).

Couple of years back my brake lights were out on both sides. Cop gave me a ticket for EACH light that was out, not just for having no brake lights. So, the point is....your age may not have been a factor. As for the inspection ticket, well, the law is the law and it's a no point violation anyhow. Frankly, who knows how long you would have gone not having the car inspected if you didn't get the ticket. When should you have gotten one...after three weeks, or a month. Is there a time factor involved here?

If you are in TX, be happy that he only gave you a ticket for going 20 miles over the posted limit. I believe he could have effectively impound your car for going 20 miles over the limit. All though they don't normally do that as they have to fill out paper work and such.. but if he really was a *****.. he could have .. so just pay your ticket and stop complaining about your registration ticket. It is his job to give you a ticket for it and it is your responsibility as the car owner to make sure its not expired. Oh yeah.. and give me a break on the "I'll go and get it inspected right now officer" crap... He probably heard it a million times already... Shut up.. pay the damn ticket and move on.. Even if it was just 1 day late and you were on your way to get it inspected.. its still expired! period! Yeah it sucks.. but ya know what. it happens...
