Default Annoying whine

When I turn my ac or heat for that matter on in my 05 coupe I hear a whine of some sort. It sounds like something is in the fan but I cant imagine what could have got in there it only has 5,000 miles on it I got it about 2 weeks ago used. Has any one experienced this problem? It is sill under warranty so I am not that worried about just curious to the cause of the sound.

I prefer a dry red, but it depends on the entre. I find wine only annoys me if you mix the menu.

It totally depends on the vintage as some years cause a harmonic distortion upon stimulation via ignition.

I'm sorry. I, once again, couldn't help myself!

As to the problem, I've seen a few folks on here find leaves and other detritus in the fan housing. Do a search.

Hopefully it's not a mouse!

I have the same thing in my roadster. It's pretty quiet and I consider it normal. Mine winds down in sound after I turn the key off. If it gets any louder I'll look into it.

I believe that the fan location is in back of the cabin air filter which is below your glove compartment.

(Sorry about the wine joking, whining sounds in your car can be annoying)

Arc, pull your filter and check the duct work for leaves and tree seeds. My car is garaged and only gets driven six months of the year and when I changed my filter this year there was all kinds of leaves and weed seed in the filter. According to the service manual the fan is just behind the filter and that you need to remove the lower instrument panel cover and you should see a blower motor cover door.

You can download a owners manual here plus some other files that you might find helpful. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=13875

The bottom of the fan disconnects the same way the filter does. Slide the levers over and you can clean out the fan housing.
As for filters the best I saw on the forum is if you smell "pickles" it is time to change it.
