Annoying wine
Annoying whine
When I turn my ac or heat for that matter on in my 05 coupe I hear a whine of some sort. It sounds like something is in the fan but I cant imagine what could have got in there it only has 5,000 miles on it I got it about 2 weeks ago used. Has any one experienced this problem? It is sill under warranty so I am not that worried about just curious to the cause of the sound.

As to the problem, I've seen a few folks on here find leaves and other detritus in the fan housing. Do a search.
Hopefully it's not a mouse!

(Sorry about the wine joking, whining sounds in your car can be annoying)
Re: Annoying wine
Arc, pull your filter and check the duct work for leaves and tree seeds. My car is garaged and only gets driven six months of the year and when I changed my filter this year there was all kinds of leaves and weed seed in the filter. According to the service manual the fan is just behind the filter and that you need to remove the lower instrument panel cover and you should see a blower motor cover door.
