2-tone rocker panel
Re: 2-tone rocker panel
Greg, in some of the photos it almost looks like something the factory might have done.
I'd like to make a suggestion. Why not apply a 1/4" red pin stripe where the silver meets the black? I think it would help finish it off.
MIYO.
Maybe something like this:

Re: 2-tone rocker panel
Mine is blk as well, I purchased chrome from a truck parts place, used on lower rocker panel on big trucks...placed along the sides, and like 1 of the others stated, made the car look taller, but it is your car, do with it as you please, but I wouldn't do it...good luck, Doc

I did notice when I experimented with an aluminum rocker panel molding on my car, that by doing so, it seemed to "section" the car and make the body look less, "bulky" or thick. But on the other hand, it seemed to raise its "chopped" top. So I have to agree, it does tend to make the car look taller.

Re: 2-tone rocker panel
You asked, so here is an honest answer: I think it looks tacky, not befitting a refined, luxury, sports car. Looks more like something Detroit would do to spiff up a Pacer or something. Sometimes, stock really is enough, especially in a car that turns heads like this one does. Now, for the light trim, you have to ask why? Just like those who like to put that chrome tape around body lines, why? Why highlight something that should be transparent to the overall design of the vehicle.
If you like it though, keep it! Just giving an opinion since you asked.
