Crossfire Coupe Design Patent Info
Crossfire Coupe Design Patent Info
Of interest to some may be the U.S. Patent Office documents related to the Chrysler Crossfire Design Patent.
The web site is a little arcane but with a little persistence you can retrieve the design patent for the Chrysler Crossfire Coupe (Patent # D0476601)
Go here:
http://patft.uspto.gov/netahtml/PTO/search-bool.html
Enter the Patent # D476,601 in the Term 1 field. (with D and comma)
Select "Patent Number from the "Field 1" Drop-down list.
Click Search
This will land you on the main patent page.
In order to view images, install the image viewer that enables viewing TIFF files in your browser (not possible with IE without it), you will need to visit the web site cited by the Patent Office first. It's easy and fast, and well worth it.
Go to http://www.uspto.gov/patft/help/images.htm for the details and install the Alternatiff software for your browser (free). Without it you will not be able to see the images - the real bonus of this exercise.
Click the "Images" button top and center and with the software installed, you will get the patent images. You can cycle through the images using the yellow arrows on the left side of the window.
Incidentally, the design patent for the prototype is referenced in the production car patent and is also quite interesting (D0455676); the Roadster Patent # is D0500000
