Machine Grey Crystal Pearl Color Code
Machine Grey Crystal Pearl Color Code
Hey guys (and girls),
I just found this forum today, somewhat randomly, and being the proud new owner of a Crossfire, thought I would join. So firstly, hello to everyone.
Secondly, I have a question about color codes. I'm interesting in buying a pair of BumperPlugs because my Crossfire came with a front license plate holder. As I'm wanting to remove that, I also want to have the BumperPlugs simply to put in the bumper temporarily.
Would anyone happen to know the three letter code for Machine Greay Crystal Pearl? I couldn't find it anywhere.
Thanks for the help.
Nick

Re: Machine Grey Crystal Pearl Color Code
Well, there's a good chance that I'm wrong about the color. I bought the Crossfire used, but it's a 2005 Crossfire Limited Coupe, 6-Speed Manual, and it only had 40 miles on it when I bought it. It was one of those direct from Chrysler, "It's not NEW, but it's certainly not USED," deals.
Anyways, that may not be the official name of the color. I simply assumed they hadn't changed names between then and the new models due to the consideration.
Would anyone happen to know what the name of the dark metallic grey from 2005 is called, and if so, what its color code would be? That's probably a better way to phrase the question.
Sorry about the confusion, but thank you for the help.

Re: Machine Grey Crystal Pearl Color Code
I believe the dark grey in the 2005 MY was Graphite Metallic. Not sure what the color code is though as I know Chrysler has had a coupe different variations of Graphite Metallic - two friends of mine have Graphite Metallic Dodge Ram pickups and the shades differ as do the color codes. As I recall one of them matches my 2004 PT Cruiser, but whether that matches a Crossfire painted in Germany......???

Re: Machine Grey Crystal Pearl Color Code
Is Machine Grey the same as my '04 Graphite Metallic (paint code PDR/ZDR)? If so, let me share my story with you:
A few weeks ago I scraped my rear quarter panel somewhat badly so a painter friend of mine helped me sand down the panel for repainting in his paint booth. When it came time to buy the paint from the auto paint store, the clerk's DuPont color code software recognized that the Crossfire uses a special paint, but the formula wasn't in the computer system (he said this has NEVER happened to him before [as a crossfire owner, I wasn't even surprised]). We knew the paint code, but we were still unable to get the formula to make the paint!
Long story short, we removed my gas lid so they could manually color match the paint. I was concerned about the quality, but they were able to make a PERFECT match.
Hope this helps, good luck! =)

I think the whole German/American/Chrylser/AMG/Mercedes/Karman combination threw everyone for a loop.
