If you think about it, Mike's a genius. The car is going out of warranty and he plugs up the exhaust and gets a free diagnostic. Now he knows everything is O.K. with his car.

Hi Mike -

I just caught up with this thread; started feeling sorry for your plight and ended up with tears of laughter !!

What a saga !!

Now you'll have to get "POWERED by MOUSECEDES-BENZ" badges.

Hope to see you and your "world's most expensive mouse trap" at the Dragon in the fall.

Wow, Mike, I can see the commercial now:

Under warranty extensive dealer diagnostic - N/C
Choclates & roses to Kevin the Crossfire god - $88
Mice in muffler - PRICELESS.

BTW, Bill, I hope you don't mind me editting your sig.

Hey Mike, I'm glad they figured out the problem with your car. That mouse problem is exactly why I put my car in a Car Jacket over the winter. I highly recommend them. It kept the critters out of mine - well worth the $169. Keeps critters out - it is sealed all the way around - and comes with dessicant packs to absorb the moisture.

I've been following this thread and I am glad to see that the problem was solved.
I to must agree with a few others here that the best thing for any car is to simply NOT STORE IT.
If you don't drive it that is fine but run it and heat it up at least one time a week all winter and if the roads are dry and clear
and it's 0 degrees outside pull that baby out of the garage and hit the open road and drive it hard and fast.
When ya get back from a run just wipe it down using detail spray and get off the little salt dust you may pick up along the way.
Storing a car is simply no good IMO.
I live just west of Chicago and my car never sat this past winter without being driven for more that 21 days and I started it once a week regardless.
I am fortunate to have a attached heated garage with no critters inside it but I still will never store a car in it.
Anyway as I said already I am very happy you have resolved the problem and I hope you can find the muffler you need.
Gary

Pat, why would I ever want to deprive the forum of such good material. Besides, if spilling the details on this whole crazy saga saves just one other owner from having to go through this head ache, Then all the good natured razzing I've had, (and will receive) will be worth it. For the record it was Purina.
So let's review:
Peanut butter mouse traps.
Moth *****, or crystals.
Steel wool stuffing.
Condoms for the tail pipes, and Intake snorkels.
The Car Jacket.
Dog food, bird seed, sunflower seeds etc. stored in sealed heavy plastic or steel containers.
Or simply don't store it, and drive the sucker.
Now, if Micky Mouse and I didn't have the same initials, everything would be
just peachy.

Now that's a visual... Mike behind his car with a bag of Purina stuffing dog food up the tailpipe
Mike I just can't get past the feeling that you might have had a premonition about this whole thing, I can still recall the first time we met you and Barb at Youngstown Crab Co as we were checking out the cars I distinctly remember you saying that we needed to make sure that our exhaust tips were clean and shiney because you never knew when one might run into another forum member, although come to think of it if you had let them soot up maybe you would have noticed little mouse footprints coming out the back of your XF going over to the dog food.

Seriously Mike it will be good to have you back on the road.

Hey FP,

That's Cute, but that Just won't cut it, when we got such Good Material to work with!

1) Put that Little Sucker ('Mikey's Mouse') standing on Mike's AMX Hood Scoop, wearing a Mighty Mouse Outfit.

2) Show another with a little ladder climbing up into one of Mike's Tailpipes with a small Bag of Purina.

3) One Flying up to His Tailpipe Hideout!

4) any other ideas out there?

FP, Get busy with that PhotoChop of yours & get us some Real Works of Art!

I was hoping to get a shot of his pipes and work with that, but he doesn't have any in his gallery.

Funny stuff.. I know from personal experience they love spark plug wires. MOTH CRYSTALS, wow! I do recall the last time I used crystals it seemed all the mice had a lot of BLING around their necks, must have thought they were diamonds. lol I've never had a moth problem.
