I picked up an '06 crossfire coupe (base model) black on black with a 6 speed manual this past saturday. I was pleasantly surprised with how much car I got for the money. It had a mere 9,700 miles and I picked it up for under 18k. So far I do not know much about these cars other than they are a mix between chrysler and benz.
My previous car (which I kept) was a 1994 saab vert turbo (classic style). I had done quite a bit of mods to the car but it is more of a toy now that its getting close to 170,000 miles.
Are there any maintenance issues or weakpoints in the drivetrain I need to know about?
I will be lurking in the shadows for a while trying to catch with what it going on here.

Congrats from a fellow 2006 base coupe owner. Purchased mine new on Aug. 07.
Spend some time reading the forum. Its a wonderful resource. Don't forget to try the search feature whenever you have a question. Most issues have been previously encountered and documented.
The only issues that I have encounterd thus far are:
- Rattling Hatch
- I Removed the OEM stereo. Added new Kenwood head unit, Polk Speakers and an amplifier
- Need to make sure that I do not have the rust problem behind the bottom door seals. You should do the same.
- Bought a tire plug kit...remember no spare
- Need to upgrade the brake pads to reduce the massive brake dust that the oem pads produce.
- See if you can figure out how to open your hood to 90 degrees. Its not in the owners manual. But it sure is helpful.
Its a great car and you should enjoy driving it. If I think of anything else, I will edit this post.
Also, non-warranty repair expenses can be huge. Its advisable to research extended warranty coverage. There are posts about this in the forum as well.
