Dude get over yourself. Don't add other members in your response to me. Talk for yourself. I can careless who compliments you and your neon. Hold hands and sing Kumbaya for all I care. Get over it. You own the car, I think it sucks! Some people think chevy's are better than Fords. I like Fords, want to argue about that?
My second car is a Mitsubishi 3000GT. I get compliments everywhere I go with that, and by people older that 18. But you know what? "WHO CARES!" I feel like I am talking to my niece responding to you. No means No!
JMO, I have a right to that don't I?

The way I see it, I am not a racer. I just found that out at the track yesterday. There is a difference between driving fast and racing. I just drive fast. But it doesn't matter how fast you drive, but how you arrive. And in my "slow" Crossfire I am important enough for people to wait for said arrival. (Which usually isn't long if at all.)

The Benz snobbery gets old after a while. You guys shoulda bought an SLK320. Oh wait... The CHRYSLER version looks 10 times better and costs way less. The way I look at it is they were the same company at the time which makes it a DaimlerChrysler vehicle, like when you buy a G35 or 350Z you don't hear people bickering over whether the 350Z is an Infinity or not. It's called Brand Marketing which is something pretty much all car companies do. In the 70's and 80's when you had Oldsmobiles and Chevys and Pontiacs using each other's engines you didn't call the Firebird with a Chevy 305 a Camaro even though they shared 90% of their parts and platform and you didn't call a Trans Am with a big 403 Oldsmobile engine a Delta 88. They're GM vehicles and belong to their own specific brand.
The Crossfire has Mercedes parts which have been reworked and mixed and matched and re-engineered by Chrysler to make it their own car. The car has been designed to look different and function slightly different than its inter-corporate cousins which makes it a Chrysler in my book.

Re: The Neon & Civic Syndrome
Something I've noticed with other drivers on the road that think you're slower than they are is when they pass you (if you're only in 2nd gear I understand why), but you catch up to them and don't pass them, just stay there. And when they pull upp, just stay with them some more, don't pass. Don't hang on their rear bumper, just side by side. Just stay there. And as they're shifting gears all Fast and Furious style, you there, probably in the same gear, just stay there.
Then pull away quick, fast in a hurry like...
