Might want to Wiggle the sterring wheel when you first turn the key as the sterring wheel lock will hange up the key from turning.

Couple of months ago my shop had a customer bring in an airplane for an annual inspection. The customer adn his partners were figuring on spending $3000 for the inspection and routine repair work. A problem was found with the engine and it needed to be overhauled. $40,000 later......

It might be a good idea to consider buying a Maximum Care Extended Service Plan. I think it would cover the ignition switch, but not the hose.

maybe you guys should download the repair manuals and pick up some tools, before you open your wallets.

Yep! I've always done as much as I can on my cars. I've got an original '04 hard copy Service Manual, and also downloaded the one available on the forum. However, the problem we all face is the high cost of the parts that are only available from Chrysler and/or maybe Mercedes. Doing the small stuff like replacing a hose, or even installing the ignition switch shouldn't be a problem. However, I wonder how much the new ignition switch keyed for the VIN would cost (guessing $600-800). In the past, I have never considered an extended service contract to be a good value. But, for the Crossfire, I decided it is if your going to keep it for many years after the 3-year warranty expires. The newer life time power train warranty is a great deal. However, it doesn't transfer, and it doesn't cover many of the sophisticated systems on these modern cars.
