Date night
Date night
Saturday night I went on a date, which means the XF needs to be in top form. So I dropped my car off at the detail shop and she got a bath and a wax along with an interior cleaning and some nice Vanilla scent. I was really happy with it. I swung by the flower shop and got a flower and I was off to my date. The girl gets in my car and we head to dinner, she makes a few comments about how clean my car is and how she has never seen an XF. WOOHOO a girl interested in cars I thought, as the night went on things go well until the end of the date. I pull up to her house and we are chatting, and as shes getting out of the car she says " I cant go on another date with you because you obviously car about your car too much." I just sat there shocked. Is it that bad that I take care of my investment
Re: Date night
You appear too superficial for her liking. Usually that means she's either very competative in her relationships and can't handle being shown up by her boyfriend or she's "psychologically superior" and will spend the rest of her useless exsistance judging those of us who know how to live.
Make a point of how much fun you are having before you leave her. Eventually she will insult every classy man she ever dates and will resort to munching the carpet of some other socially inept wench, or getting thrown down the front stairs of her trailerpark home by a toothless man in flannel.
... too bitter?

What she did appreciate, however, was finding out that she was the first person to take a ride in the passenger seat of the car. Girls...
Re: Date night
I took a friend of a friend home after a camping trip last weekend. Nice girl.
I didn't say a thing about the car... she actually mentioned she liked the styling. I offered a handling demonstration on a turnpike off ramp. She loved it.
She was previsouly critical of Chrysler due to her beat old 98 Sebring (Typical ill-maintained car that made it farther than it should have with no appreciation from it's owner). I like to think I was able to restore some faith in the brand.
And that's when you know you are sick. When you focus more on defending the brand of vehicle than hitting on your very attractive fun-loving passenger.

Its kinda sad to read comments on this thread, especially those that degrade the female date without even really knowing the true reason for turning the guy down.
Seriously folks.. its just a car!
There could have been a multitude of reasons for the girl to turn the OP down. Bad BO, Bad Breath, bad looks, personality clash, etc etc etc etc .. (Not saying that the Op has any of the mentioned issues, .. just examples..)
I love my Crossfire as much as anyone here, but seruously though, its the cheapest car I ever purchased and although its a nice car, you would think that its a GOD from reading the response from all those who worship it here...
Its a car, relatively nice car in fact thats relatively cheap and didn't do too well in the market. Nothing more.. nothing less...

Re: Date night
Went out friday nite with a new lady friend I have known for over 20 years, She fell in love with the car. Later that night she was telling her daughter about the Xfire and called it CUTE! Oh well she is beautiful and I guess i can keep driving a CUTE car. By the way I would never let anybody detail my CUTE car except me.
Would not trust anyone after some of the things I have seen. Do it yourself, you won't regret it.

Second, you mean to tell me that a 2 seater that can be had Brand New LOADED for around $26K is not cheap??? Seriously.. you can't even get a fully loaded Miata with a a power top for that price... Like I said, I love the Crossfire like anyone here.. but it is what it is and I don't pretend for it to be what it is not. You can't even purchase a brand new similarly equiped pedestrian car like an Accord or a Camry for what you pay for a new Crossfire. Is the Crossfire a beautiful car? It sure is. Is it a limited car? Yup.. Is it a fun car to own and drive? Hell yes it is.. but it is what it is and its a its a car.. and like I said a relatively cheap one at that.... Cost of entry into Crossfire ownership is pretty low... thats just the truth ...which makes it a great bargain with great bang for the buck..
And yes, Chrysler DID send me a thank you letter for purchasing and driving their car! In fact, every NEW owner received the same thank you letter I would think... Hell, some even received full luguage sets...
