Talking New to forum

Hey all! My name is Matt and I just bought up a '04 graphite gray coupe. I have been searching for a couple months now trying to find the Crossfire that I wanted at the right price and I finally found it! I live in Florida and the car is in Mass so I am having it shipped down next week. I look forward to chatting it up with you all.

Here is a link to the auction if you wanna check it out. Tell me what you guys think.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m32

The first thing I plan to do is put some better tires on it!

~ congrats on your new purchase & welcome to the forum!

it appears to be a well known prior forum members car (steve aka 'knowit')... with the srt 6 front bumper installed, eye brows, front splash guards & the revised crossfire badges. he took very good care of his car! and the '04 color is called graphite gray.

a welcome back to that car!

cheers!

Yup it appears to be so. According to this thread:

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ghlight=knowit

He says the VIN ends in 2213. That is the VIN of the car I bought! It is good to know the background on this car and that it was well taken care of!

Welcome to the forum, you are getting a great car. I hate to see it leave the state though. We need more owners here for our hook ups.

Welcome to the forums, Matt. I'm sure you'll enjoy your new ride. These XFires are wonderful vehicles. How long before it arrives at your place?

Hey Matt, yes that is my old car. What a deal you got! The dealer gave me $14,000 for it. They lost money. Are you buying it from the same dealer I traded it to, Auto Bahn USA? Had I know it would sell for that price I would have bought it back myself. I do miss the exclusivity of the CF world and also the great members here on the forum.

I do have a few things to keep me occupied right now though. I just finished my Red Sox themed Sportster chopper.

And I also just picked up a '79 Trans Am to restore. (going to build a Bandit).

Nice to be back here posting. Let me know if you have any questions after you get the car.

Thumbs up Re: New to forum

Looks pretty sharp. I see someone put the SRT-6 front chin spoiler on it. I especially like the dark gray/black interior. I personally think it looks better than the light or medium gray. Good luck with it & have fun.

Isn't it interesting that these dealers still don't know what they have. You do realize that this engine is not supercharged as it's advertised? Great price and knowit took great care of it also. You'll have a wonderful time on the forum. Welcome.

Hey Crispy. How are those chrome wheels treating you?

Matt, Crispy has the chrome wheels that I used to have on that car. The chrome wheels make the car look amazing. Try to find a set. You wont be disappointed.

Great price on the crossfire. But, if you truly thought you were getting a supercharged (SRT6) xfire and that is what you were looking to buy, you have rights through ebay and paypal. I'm sure you already know this. I just have had problems in the past with people misadvertising their prodcts on e-bay and it sucks when you get something totally different than what was advertised. BTW welcome to the forum.

I bought it from some guy who must have bought it from Auto Bahn USA. He must not of known what he had either. He knew very little about the care other than it was well taken care of by the previous owner. And now I can verify that .

Yup I knew what the car was even if the seller didn't! I had been looking for one of these cars for a couple months and I am amazed that they do not hold their value. It's great if you are trying to buy one and you sure take a hit on resale especailly if you bought it new.

I've had nothing but success on eBay. I've sold two truck and bought this car on the site and so far so good. I believe that if this guy that was selling it truly knew what he had he could have gotten a bit more for it. I had a Carfax report done on it and it checked out. There was actually a buy it now price of $12,995 on the car at one point. But when I hit the reserve price which was $10,500(!), it went away. I was even willng to pay that much for it. So I really did get it for a good price.

Congrats and welcome to yet another Florida member. Good choice on the manual. That's one thing I miss not having on mine.

Enjoy the ride...
