Kleemann $$$???
Kleemann $$$???
So enough BS about chips and exhaust that give you 5 hp.
If someone wanted some real power and a stick shift (sorry SRT guys auto's suck) what's wrong with the Klemann system.
Has anyone used their supercharger?
I looks like the easeist way to make some real power, it also looks expensive.
But......... if a SRT cost 10k more then a limited and your really wanted a stick car could you justify 10k for the Kleemann system.

I contacted a dealer for pricing, I'll let you know what it is.
My guess is 10k

Re: Kleemann $$$???
Cochezz,
I completely agree. Especially since they're giving Crossfires away right now. I just bought a 2006 Limited a week ago for $19K---so an additional $10K for a 4.5 sec car is very tempting. I would be real interested in hearing from someone who has had a Kleemann installed.

Re: Kleemann $$$???
Crossfires are so cheap right now you can afford one of each.
Let's see....$10k for the Kleeman parts PLUS installation. Now you're up to $12k. And now your warranty is no good. You can buy SRT6s for $18-24k.
As I understand it, the SRT6 engine is hand-made by AMG and runs at a lower compression than the regular 3.2l. I would also be willing to bet that some internals are reinforced for the extra power.

That said I think the best route to take would be to replace the cams and pistons of the N/A and bolt whatever will fit and then tune the system.
JMHO
Re: Kleemann $$$???
The new Dodge Nitro/ and some jeeps are available with a desiel engine (poss europe only) that puts out 300 lbf, and has the same nsg370 gearbox.
The Kleemann dealer also says the tranny is under rated and will handle the power, he also says the motor will handle the 7 psi no problem
But the price of the kit is $9500 so its a bit pricey plus the cost of installation. I does look very nice and factory like though.
Maybe I'll build my own vortec kit at 5 psi no intercooler, that should make the car a little more interesting without to much cost. But then again there is something to be said for dropping your car off and picking it up a week later with 100 more hp.

Re: Kleemann $$$???
I just want to know if Kleeman will reprogram my ecu for a reasonable rate. They can keep their supercharger. There are plenty of options such as Powerdyne, paxton, etc.... for a lot less than 12 grand. Not to mention the compressed air from these centrifugals are the lowest temp available.
I have a feeling you can only get the supercharged ecu reprogram if you buy the whole package from them.

Re: Kleemann $$$???
I'm going to assume at this point no one knows much about this system, I figured someone would have done this before.
"No intercooler, you're asking for problems. FMIC is cheap insurance especially for wanting to spend 9500$ for a Kleeman setup"
The System comes with an Air to Water Intercooler that is more efficient then the AMG equivalent including its own pump.

My understanding is they have a system that runs in parrallel with the stock ECU to feed more fuel, i don't believe it could be used in any other way.
So for fun I'm going to do some math:
Vortec v5 supercharger $2200.00
Vortec powercooler $2300.00
Vortec tunable fuel reg $400.00
Blow off valve $ 270.00
Asorted hoses/Fitting $300
Mounting brackets/cust $ 400.00
Aluminum pipe 3" w/bends $250.00
Silicon hose $ 100.00
Air cleaner $ 50.00
Tune and Dyno time $500.00
ECU mods??? $ ????
So you could spend $6800.00 + on a custom system or $9500 on a proven system with a warrenty.
I think I'll start saving up and be the first one to do it, might take a year or so.
