Unhappy Goodbye Crossfire... = (

Massachusetts' auto insurance rates have finally got the best of my 22 year old self... I traded it in on Friday for an 2005 Nissan Altima SL . It was heart breaking... It was fun while it lasted though. Thanks for all the advice guys! Enjoy your Crossfire's!

Sorry to hear. It would have been nice to catch you at one of the planned hook ups. Maybe you can get another at a later time.
Rates are supposed to get better in April with deregulation starting.

so you had to go out and get a "pratical car"?
"practical cars" are so over-rated. anyway, sorry for your loss and we hope your crossfire finds good new home.

How much were your rates? Full coverage? Tickets, etc, on record?

It's through progressive if that makes a differnece. You may want to get a quote through them.

I think the insurance companies punish younger drivers with higher rates. When I traded my 1990 Corvette in for my XFire, my insurance went down $85. Apparently, my insurer was happy to see me in a sensible automobile. Go figure!

Don't feel badly Irwin, in Miami I pay $400 plus for 2 SRT's and one Town and Country Van. $500 deductible Nothing on record, though insurance paid for one accident.

Ok, so I'm 23, and I was adding up the amount I've given to insurance over the years, and it's frightening.

First, I've NEVER had a ticket go on the record, go through my parents and get multi-car, house and life insurance through State Farm. When I was 16, I had a 98 Ram, and it was $190/month until I was 19. Dropped to $150/month, but bought an SRT-4. Jumped to $230/month, and gradually dropped to $180/month over 2 years. Right before I turned 22, sold the SRT-4 and bought a quad cab Ram and it dropped to $150/month and it just dropped to $130/month.

Total paid in insurance: $6000 about on Ram. $5000ish on SRT-4. $2000ish on new Ram. I have paid $13,000 in insurance. This is nuts. I had one claim when my SRT got keyed, and I paid my $250 deductible and they paid the $1100 for new paint.

I should probably get a quote from my State Farm agent before I go Crossfire shopping tomorrow...
