For a company that created the greatest concepts and at times turned them into reality, you have to wonder at times how they missed the mark.

The Viper, Crossfire, Charger, 300 and more... but what happened to this one?

I like the front end more than our cars. Perhaps because it's different? I'm not sure.

 

hopefully it was canned, and it probably was considering the sales of the crossfire were low and difficult..

 

It was on display recently at a local Auto Show in Virginia. You can see more pictures of it that I took here...

Wow, I like it! I could buy a Car like that for sure, it's a little like my '66 Dodge Charger (Loading Ramp ). I loved the look of the interior space layout, with 4 individual bucket seats! SF

 

Those taillights remind me of a Mazda. Not sure if it's the 6 or the 3. (I pay no attention to Mazdas!)

 

I'm afraid whoever was responsible for turning concept into real production cars in the Chrysler design department has "left the building" and no longer works at Auburn Hills. Most of the styling ideas of the Airflite concept were applied to the new Sebring...with clumsy, awkward disastrous results !

Look how well all the seams and cut-lines were managed on the Airflite; door, hatch and hood openings all are perfectly integrated into the design.

Now look at a Sebring...clunky thick door frames spoil the roof line, hood and trunk openings have seams ruining the flow of the styling themes. And the overall proportion of the car is tall, blocky and thick waisted. It's just a chubby clunky mess !

I'm afraid Chrysler has lost some critical personnel in the design department !

I like the carbon fiber touch on the grill. That would work really well on a Crossfire. Subtle yet it makes the grill look more expensive.

After looking at our cars, then looking at that, the wheels are too small!!!

 

honestly i recently drove the sebring and i really think they missed with that one as well, the inside if far from luxurious and frankly cheaply made, not to mention the overall styling and attention to detail left me wanting.

 

I love that front end, but the Mazda tail lights need to go. I am actually glade they will not produce this car, Its bad enough my friends give me a hard time asking me if my SRT6 is the Two door version of the sebring. Lol I know there just giving busting my ballz but I am kinda upset that every vehicle in the Chrysler line now has our unique hood.

 

I actually like the new Sebrings, both the sedan and the convertible. I like that they picked up the hood strakes from the Crossfire. Yes, they have plasticky interiors but so does every other car at that price point. I like that Chrysler actually took a chance with the Sebrings and tried to inject some style into them. Like them or hate them, they are distinctive--much more so than the appliances from Ford and GM.

 

I've seen that concept in person a few times and just love it. The overall design is just brilliant - 4 doors and that huge station wagon like cargo area. The thing looks like a 4 door Crossfire done properly.

But they gave us the Dodge Journey instead. Yawn.

I haven't seen it in person, but like it too. It just goes to show that the retro Art Deco style is still alive. If put into production and sells well, it could help the value of Crossfires.

 

With all due respect that thing is butt ugly...................Crossfire is a much nicer looking car on the outside..............

Whatever happened to the Crossfire? It would have ended with the same fate. Diamler didn't know how to market in the USA so it would have failed anyway.

 

I like the concept; the Sebring on the other hand is a P.O.S.!!!! By far the most inexpensive, cheap interior of the American brand cars in its class. The engine is noisy and you can cut your hands on the plastic seams.
