I'm also glad to hear that you are OK. Sorry that your ride was destroyed, but I agree that it did one heck of a job protecting you from the driver in the Urban Assault Vehicle. Get well soon.

Sorry to hear about your loss......glad you're O.K.

To be honest.....the car still looks pretty good for being slammed into at expressway speeds. The car did what it was supposed to......completely disintegrate around you to absorb the impact. Looks like the German engineers get an A+ for doing their jobs.

Sorry for your loss, but it looks like it saved you from a lot more possible injury. Like the others said get yourself a good lawyer; then get well and get a new car.

I don't know how handy you are but if you are, and if you have the space, I would offer the insurance company $3K for the car. If you get another Crossfire especially the same color you would have plenty of spre parts even if you sold some off to pay to cover the cost.

hey man, i was just in a head on collision a few months back, and what they are saying is true, its gonna get worse. keep an eye out for new bruises esspecially on extremeities, if one pops up a day or 2 later its prolly a blood clot go and get an ultra sound! also check yourself for internal injury by massaging your torso, i did this while taking a shower every day these things sometimes take a while to pop up so keep your eyes peeled for them for at least a week. they didnt even put me in the bus, my boss picked me up, was in my work truck, and as per company policy went to take a **** test lol. 2 days later my leg was feeling sore i pulled up the leg of my pants and there was a huge purple bruise, i had no idea where it had come from. another guy told me to go to the hospital, which i did. i cute prolly 30 yr old women came in with a huge tube of ky and told me to roll over on my side... i started grabing my clothes and telling her she had the wrong room. she got a good laugh out of it, i damn near had a heart attack, they found a blood clot and did a minor surgery to remove it, it wasnt far from the top of my shin, said i needed a week to recover, i never missed a day of work, checked myself out the next day. thank god for the other guy i work with or i would have let it go. but for real keep your eyes peeled! wanna buy my xf? lol, hope you recover quick!

when I saw those pictures it saddened me deeply. I told my roommate that if my car ever looked like that I would cry for days. He thought I was joking. Glad to hear you're okay...

...and not to move too fast but...

...any ideas for you're next ride? Another XFire or....?

Man I don't know how you kept your cool. I could not even begin to fathom what I would do if my car was totalled by a irresponsible driver..

I am amazed and also grateful that the impact of the collision didn't do more damage. I mean it is definitely totaled but with the compact size of our cars it was clearly not crumpled as much as I would have expected. I am hoping that in the days to come you don't feel any new injuries and are back to daily routine soon. Thank God and MB quality you are still here to talk about this. Gary

Cool Re: One less X Fire on the road

Hi all, I want to thank everyone for the kind words and advice. Well they did total the car and we settled at around 19,000 dollars, boy was I surprised. I am still feeling the aches and pains from the accident { you guys were right it got worse with time} I haven't settled the personal injury claim yet. The good news is I finally got released back to work on light duty on Monday. The other good news is that I went and got a 05 srt6 graphite Grey with 5900 miles for 20,450.00 with 24 mos remaining on the warranty. I flew down to Texas, picked it up, and drove it back to Washington. My Limited was in much better shape than the SRT6 but I couldn't pass up the deal.I just have one question for you Srt6 owners. I went to the dealership today and checked on transferring the 7/70 power-train warranty and they said I couldn't because the coding of the VIN # said it didn't come with a 7/70 power-train warranty and Chrysler dident offer it in on the 05 Crossfires {and I am the second owner this car} . Have any of you guys and gals heard this before ? I had 7/70 on my 04 Limited, and i was the seconded owner on it to.

Ugh......sorry to hear about the aches and pains.........I've been there!

Glad to hear about the SRT! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. (we want pics! )

Unfortunately....the SRT did not come with the 7/70 warranty that the Crossfire "lite" has.

If I remember correctly the 2005's have the 7/70 power train warranty but the srt's did not.
