Default Sprint Booster

Considering geting a sprint booster but have a couple questions about it.

1. Does the sprint booster increase HP or just make it quicker off the line?

2.Is it ok to take on and off or your car?

3.would you recommend getting one?

Generally, they just overcome the "drive by wire" slugginess of a transmission that has been programming itself using your "less than aggressive" behavior.

Do a search, there is PLENTY of discussion out there.

1. No HP gain.
2. Yes.
3. I'm buying one.

INSTALL PHOTOS compliments of PAULW

Option 1
You need to remove the throttle pedal following step below:
1. Remove the lower nut cap.
2. Remove the 10mm nut.
3. Remove the washer, a magnet helps.
4. Remove the pedal, lift the bottom pulling out and pull it out of the upper bracket.
5. Unplug the tps cable from the sensor.
6. Plug the tps cable into the Sprint Booster.
7. Plug the Sprint Booster cable into the tps sensor.
8. Reinstall the pedal assembly.
9. Go for a test drive, you WILL SMILE !!!

Option 2
Remove the kick panel on the console. This is the panel that is to the right of your foot as you sit in the car. First remove the screw on the side of the console where the vent is. After that is removed remove the second Phillips screw holding the side panel on the console in place. Remove the drivers side of the console. Now look back above the gas pedal and there is the plug. Squeeze the sides to release the locking mechanism on the plug. Unplug and insert the SB. Replug the plugs with the SB in line. Replace console side and screw and then the vent and screw and now you are done! No pedal removal or nut to drive you nuts. Simple.

Installing the Sprint Booster make the throtle feel like it's directly linked to the car by a cable. Pushing the pedal harder won't give the same result because you're fighting against the car's computer that thinks its learned how you drive.

I just installed one in my SRT6 this weekend and the difference is incredible. It drives like a completely different car, all the car's power is now waiting for me to touch the pedal.

Whats even funnier is that you are replying to a post that was made in March of 2008, and Jason's last time logged in to this site was 08-07-2009. I doubt he will get your message. LOL

Hey Fred,
What makes you think its the SB? If the SB failed the computer would not like the signal from the TPS and put you in limp mode limiting the throttle up, not keep it from starting.

Fred, I agree with Paul. I have never heard of anyone else having a problem with a sprint booster causing a problem with a car. It could be a number of things, and it could just be cooinsidental that it happened at the same time as you installed the SB. Have you checked the battery? Are you showing an error code on the dash? If you provided some more information, we may be able to help you diagnose the problem and potentially save you some money.

You can buy these from SRT Six, he may have some help on what is happening. I think you have a battery problem and the Srint Booster is just there, but did not cause the problem. My car is an LTD manual, don't know if it will fit mine or not, but if you deside to sell it let me know.

The Sprint booster would not have caused Nerf's problem.

As for the SB, our cars should have come with the device. I will likely buy more Crossies as time goes by. Everyone of them will get an SB.

Install is easy. Simplist performance mod one can do. It makes the Crossie go faster faster.

Get one from TVT or SRT six. And if you don't like it, PM me, I'll take it off your hands.

I suppose that these problems of Derf's could have been caused by the SB or equally by putting faulty air in the tires. Anything is possible, I'm going for the bad air in this case.

On a serious note, telling a mechanic that the problem was caused by the sprint booster is liable to get the diagnosis that the throttle body is shot along with the MAF. When those are replaced at a horrendous cost he will find the real problem and then hand you a huge bill with a smile and say you were correct.

SRT SIX sells them now....

as for the car not starting, I think you got into something that you shouldn't have...the sprint booster is a 15 minute install....lol...after you have done one.....lol....because the first time...you just simply fight that washer...but, I didn't because everyone on here warned me beforehand...so, we would need to know what you actually did while installing this little device...if you installed it correctly, you may have a faulty sprint booster, and if that was the case, then simply putting it back together should have been all you had to do. If it didn't start then, you have another problem, not a SB problem..

I have a sprint booster for sale. It is the original version not the "selectable model" and for the automatic. I Paid $325.00 for it.
Selling for $200.00 + $10.00 shipping in the US. I recently purchased the "selectable sprint booster and have no use for this any more.

PM me if interested.

Thanks.
