How about a hood scoop like the Corvette summer car had.

It's not the twin snorkel look that bugs me........it's the center part that goes wayyyy out and re-attaches to the hood.

Reminds me too much of this!

That is one of; if not THE, GHEYEST hood scoops I've seen. It still boggles my mind that it's on a SL55 and not on a Honduh.

I agree with Irwin though a mongoose style hood scoop might do the trick. I love the look of the firebird and the ws6 style hood. Its tough with the crossfire being we have the lines down the hood. It would be sweet to see if the lines could continued to be mimicked in the hood. WHERE ARE OUR PHOTOSHOP EXPERTS lol i could do it but it would take me 3 hours.
I am sure which ever hood that you decided will look good and perhaps functional as well. I don't think you want any lesser than that for your crossfire.
Talking about photoshop experts, yes there are quite a number of hidden talents in this community.
One of them is FP, whom I've seen his presentation/s. Perhaps if you addressed him personally he may want to chip-in his skill which at the same time help you from thinking too hard that you may hurt yourself.

Here's a viable solution that's in keeping with the "Chrysler" theme.
It's one way to mount scoops and still retain the hood strakes, and not disturb the center spine.

Oh, the relentless pursuit of originality often leads to poor decisions like that hood scoop! Actually, that whole Benz looks like a compendium of stick-on crap. That car would look beautiful without all that plastic, especially those chrome gills in the side skirts that are mostlikely non-functional. Simple and tasteful is the way to go. A car should look like it could have come off the assembly line. Those wheels and suspension mods would have been enough.

I agree. Auto designers spend countless hours in the design development of an automobile. Some designs result with great appeal to buyers, many are failures. Why people think they can approve upon great designs of the the SLK and Xfire with hood tack-ons that don't make sense is beyond me...IMHP.

That's a beautiful Dodge.......but I have a hard time believing that it retained the 340. Especially when you look at the back tires!

Couldn't agree more. And that's precisely what makes +fireamx's hood scoop so great. To me, it looks absolutely stock ... except, somehow, just soooooooo much better.........

Agree about the AMX, I just wish he could make it functional somehow, even by using it to cool the engine bay.

Thanks for the "props" guys, it means allot.

Cgocifer, if you notice in the wind tunnel photo I've posted below, the smoke trail flows right over the 2 inches of "dead" air that surrounds the body. (it's more clear on the smoke stream as it passes over the roof). That's the biggest reason I've never made my scoop functional. I really don't think it would introduce more CFM of air into my engine than the OEM ducts do now. Trust me, if I thought for one minute it would improve performance, I'd fabricate something, because it wouldn't be that hard to do.
