Talking about photoshop experts, yes there are quite a number of hidden talents in this community.
One of them is FP, whom I've seen his presentation/s. Perhaps if you addressed him personally he may want to chip-in his skill which at the same time help you from thinking too hard that you may hurt yourself.

Here's a viable solution that's in keeping with the "Chrysler" theme.
It's one way to mount scoops and still retain the hood strakes, and not disturb the center spine.

Oh, the relentless pursuit of originality often leads to poor decisions like that hood scoop! Actually, that whole Benz looks like a compendium of stick-on crap. That car would look beautiful without all that plastic, especially those chrome gills in the side skirts that are mostlikely non-functional. Simple and tasteful is the way to go. A car should look like it could have come off the assembly line. Those wheels and suspension mods would have been enough.

That's a beautiful Dodge.......but I have a hard time believing that it retained the 340. Especially when you look at the back tires!

Cgocifer, if you notice in the wind tunnel photo I've posted below, the smoke trail flows right over the 2 inches of "dead" air that surrounds the body. (it's more clear on the smoke stream as it passes over the roof). That's the biggest reason I've never made my scoop functional. I really don't think it would introduce more CFM of air into my engine than the OEM ducts do now. Trust me, if I thought for one minute it would improve performance, I'd fabricate something, because it wouldn't be that hard to do.
