Re: dumb ?
FSS Reset
1. turn the key to the on/run position.
2. within 1 second press the **** to the left of the display twice.
3. present status for days remaining or distance traveled is displayed. within 10 seconds turn key to off.
4. press and hold **** on left side of display while turning key to on/run again. present status is displayed once more. continue to hold button. after approx. 10 seconds a tone sounds and the display shows 6,000 miles for approx. 10 seconds.
5. release the ****
You should be able to do this. It takes a few attempts to get it right. One pointer ...the 10 seconds in step 3 refers to 10 seconds after the key is turned to the ON position. You have to turn it off before that expires. Let me know how it turned out.
I must give credit where it is due! I found this on an earlier post by another member.
The search feature is great! Thanks to the many members who have posted info.

Re: dumb ?
basically...anytime the car is on you can push the button twice...it will show how many miles until it's time for an oil change.
You don't want to reset the FSS unless you just changed the oil!
Also...when you get close to oil change time...that same spot on the odometer will start showing how many miles left to "that time" everytime you start the car. It'll display this for about 30 seconds.

But 1 wrench is "A" Service and basically an oil change.
2 wrenches is "B" service and includes many other things (which some may deem unneccessary, and for Chrysler to make more money )
Check your owners manual for a complete list of what they do for each service.

The car's oil is changed variabley depending on the way you drive, what filter you use, and the conditions you drive in.. it is impossible to tell when exactly is the ideal time to change oil.. For example I don't follow my FSS and change oil roughly every 3-3.5k miles and after each change I write down the date and the mileage of when I did the change.. Some follow FSS and change every ~7k, and others go as much as 9-10k..
For example if you driving in a more congested with much stop and go you should change more frequently than if you drive in highways at stable speeds, if you use a paper filter you should change in shorter interval than if you were to use a fleece filter, if you are often riding in high RPMs you should change more frequently..
If your engine was replaced you should be follow break in procedure and I recommend an Oil change within the first thousand miles...at least
