well....earlier today I was going to get some food from the grocery store and some punk in a late 90's to early 2000's mustang GT decides to cut me off at a light after it turned green so he could get around the guy in front of him, he does the hard shift into 2nd to get the stang sideways to show off, well I'm pissed so I throw her into second as he gets into the left lane and I hear his v8 screaming as I just drive by, i'm sure he was embarrased that my v6 crossfire beat him when he saw my turn signal in front of him signaling that I was now merging into his lane but this time in front of him ha ha ha! For some reason there are a lot of a$$ mustang drivers.

 

It's the affordability. There's a lot of young punks that can afford one, and they buy them up and drive like a$$holes. I know, I used to be one.

Nothing nicer than running and beating a 300hp 'stang! It drives them insane........ lost to a 6 cylinder.

 

Its funny, '04 crossfire prices are getting close to mid 90's Mustang GT prices.

Don't hate the car, hate the driver. Being an owner of a 07 Pony car I can tell you they're not as affordable as you may think. Ours out the door was $24K for just leather, Pony pkg, and Sirius radio there was no ABS, traction control, or HomeLink. That was just $5K less then my Crossfire back in 04 which was loaded comparatively speaking.

 

Late 90's/2000 don't have 300hp. They only have 215-225. If it was a late model..the Stang would've ate him up.

Are you people beating Mustangs with the Limited or SRT? I don't think my Limited is that fast.

 

a limited can take an older mustang (90's-2003)..the newer GTs (2005 and up)..you won't beat. Although an SRT can beat them...

I am sure there are many drivers in my area who already know my car to be.. the ******* car..

 

The 99 to 04 GT has the 4.6 and I was under the impression that they were faster than a limited or regular crossfire...?

The best was when I beat a worked mustang GT with 4 cylinder dodge omni GLH turbo, actually I destroyed him and I won $$$. My Glh was workerd with mopar performance parts, and my whole dealership witnessed the race. The guy was in his 40's and he was really embarrassed, and he challenged me. I love Mustang owners they're so naive!

 

I definately don't hate mustangs, I like mustangs a lot, but as stated in some of the posts above, its the punk drivers I don't like, I am only 20 but I still do not cut people off like that lol, and yeah I used to own a black 2006 mustang GT the new ones are definately faster in a strait line, but the one I passed was a little bit older, which don't have 300 ponies they have 240 under the hood, so thats why I was able to beat him.

 

are you sure he was still floored. a 99-04 shouldnt have any problem beating you. way more tq down low. not calling you out just asking.

 

99-04's have 302tq and 260hp. the only Stangs with 240hp were 93-95 Cobras.

 

You have to take the driver mod into consideration. I've been to the drag strip plenty of times and have seen all sorts of guys turn horrid times in various cars simply because they don't know how to drive it. But the year/model of Mustang in question here isn't all that quick. I've beaten a few of them at the drag strip (so, yes, they had a pretty good idea we were racing) with my Turbo PT Cruiser.
