Re: BRABUS aka StarTech
I have not seen these on a crossfire but being there the same as the r170 all i could come up with is pics. Brabus is the best of the best when it comes to MB some might argue Carlsson is right there with them but all arguements aside this is one of those deals you will be kicking yourself if you pass up. REMEMBER looking at these pics I believe these are 19s the startech crossfire has 20's. ALso these should work for the SRT6 it is of coarse buy at your own risk because I dont think brabus put them ever on an SRT6. In our favor its a pretty safe bet, Here is the deal and my reasoning. The eibach kit is the same for both cars why wouldnt the brabus kit be the same??? If it fits one it has to fit the other ?? THe same rule of thumb can be applied when it comes to the koni springs. I am 75% sure these will work for our SRT6. ASk Anthony but for all I know these could be the same as the eibach springs just painted silver. Although people on MBworld have been talking like this kit is better.

Re: BRABUS aka StarTech
I just got off the phone with Anthony at Brabus - he's checking with Germany to see if the part numbers are the same as for the Mercedes as they have never actually sold or installed a set of these on a Crossfire. Brabus USA is local to me so if Anthony calls me back with good news on Monday I'll probably run down there and have them install the whole works for me.

Let's hope all goes well and we get some new springs on Monday.
Re: BRABUS aka StarTech
I did as well THey are worried that it might lower the car too much he gave me an estimate for 2-3 inches. I do not mind for I love the stock rim and tire set up on the SRT6 but those who are thinking aftermarket like I did before with 19s and 20s It going to rub forsure if it goes that low.

I have stock diamter and width except an offset that brings my rims out by 6mm.. Think it will rub the wheel wells? 29offset in the front and a 37 with a 20mm spacer in the back?
Re: BRABUS aka StarTech
Apparently I spoke to Anthony at Brabus USA right after either RPM or jonnyangel did because he mentioned having just spoken with "one of the other Crossfire guys". He didn't mention the 2-3" drop to me, just that they were looking into some other specs.
Since I'm so local to them I might offer up my car for them to do a test fit on.

Re: BRABUS aka StarTech
I spoke with Anthony about 5:00pm PST today (Monday 2/4/08). He was / is concerned about the 2" - 3" drop issue mentioned above. He thought it might have been due to the Mercedes SLK having an inline 4 and not the heavier V-6.
Apparently the springs are OEM Eibachs. So I looked up the springs for the 96-04 SLK's on the Eibach site. Eibach lists the same springs for all three of the SLK models and the Crossfire as well, including the MB model with the same V-6 engine the Crossfire has. Since various members have reported using the Eibach's with no real problems, I'm thinking that we may be just fine.
Anthony did mention that it had been several years since his shop had tried them on a Crossfire, and he thought it was with 19" and 20" wheels (maybe the Brabus wheels?). Anyway, as long as Eibach didn't make a custom made set of springs for Brabus, or somehow size them differently, it seems like we may be OK.
Based on that, Anthony is shipping me a full set (shocks and springs) tomorrow - Tuesday. I'll get them installed and report back - hopefully by Friday.

Can you please take before/after pictures and some measurements for us, like wheel center to fender lip, that sort of thing?
