Hope you never have to sell
Re: Hope you never have to sell
I have to agree with all of the above. You may have just picked a bad time, economy wise, to sell a car. It may just take longer then usual because people are concerned about their financial future and a car may not be on the "must have list" right now.
Even Mercedes-Benz is having problems...the 2008 Mercedes SL-Class has a $12,000.00 factory to dealer incentive (Ref: Autoweek, 28 Jan 08 edition). Ouch!!
Good luck...

Re: Hope you never have to sell
Just checked Autotrader. Limited search to 2005 with keyword SRT.
Came back with 110 listings nationwide. Pretty high number considering only 3K built for the world.
The $ range was interesting, however the least expensive unit was listed as an SRT6 roadster yet a picture of a limited coupe was shown. It did not include the SN to double check.
Range of prices within this search:
Highest Price:$35,000
Lowest Price: $15,999
Average Price:$24,328
Considering the two lowest were not really SRT6s, I don't think that is a bad range.
Did a quick lookup of 05 Z4s Avg price: $28,087 with 375 listed

Re: Hope you never have to sell
I think the whole problem with the economy right now stems from the people on the coasts bloating up their housing prices over the years & being willing to pay those prices thinking if they didn't jump in ....they would just have to pay even more later. I live in a "Really Hot" area in Kansas City....near the Nascar Track / + all kinds of new stuff .....I paid $323K for my brand new house/2 acres in 2002.....when you look on realtor.com ....a house like this on the coasts (if you could even find such a thing)....would be $2-3 million. Houses in Palo Alto that are smaller than my 3 car garage are a million....what a joke.

Mine has been for sale since Sept. I started at $14,000 which I thought was pretty reasonable. It's still for sale right now at $12k and I can't even get anyone to bite. It's on craigslist, listed here, listed on Motive forums, signs on the car . . .
The real stab in the back came today, when I tried to trade the car in on a 2007 FJ Cruiser. SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. Yup, $7,000 on the trade. They would only come up to $8k after 30 minutes of negotiation. Needless to say I walked away from the deal.
The best I've seen on trade-in in the last month is $10k and that was because they really wanted to move the car.
Edit - my spelling sucks today.

We're in a slowing economy.
Recession = Deflation
