Default Sidez Mod : Windows

Total Cost $330

Well I would like to update you fellas on my latest mods. not much has changed and I still have half the things listed in my signature not yet installed, but I have done a couple things to my windows.. The first one is window tint.. After a long time trying to decide to go with 20s 35s or 50s on the sides I have decided to go with the 35s sides and I am glad I chose the 35s as for me their just perfect becuase any darker would make a much more noticeable impact on view.. and any brighther would be almost pointless..

I decided to do the windsheild as well as much of the sunlight gets into the car through the windsheild and limiting it a bit is great in those extremly sunny or hot days.. with the windsheild I went 50% tint.. at the tint shop I was told that the tint is cumilative and the windows are already slightly darker than typical window glass such as the kind used in housing... Very happy with this mod

My other window mod inspiered by the ferrari forums.. is windsheild wiper delete.. yea thats it.. just remove the windsheild wipers and drive without em.. I only drove the crossfire a couple times in the rain and in those couple times never really used the windsheild wipers, as I did not like the water being flapped around and rather had it roll away with the help of the rainx solution... I think the wiper delete really helps create a very clean look in the front of the car..

If I can I will post better pictures in time, but here it is...

In Michigan, any additional windshield tint or the wiper delete will get you a ticket.

Nothing personal, but no wipers and a tinted windshield...that's an accident waiting to happen.

how so? 50% is not dark enough to significantly lower visiblity.. and windshield wipers.. I really don't like em and don't use em much even in the rain... try using rainx and I think you will have a similar oppinion about the windshield wipers I was not always a believer myself.. but it does work magic

RainX is an awesome product! My old Ford Fairlane's wipers stopped working one day. After replacing the switch and wiper motor the system still didn't work. I figured it was the original wire harness. I really didn't want to dig in that at that point.

I tried RainX as a temporary solution but the stuff worked so damn good I just left the wipers in non opt. Truly great product and works as advertised. I tried "other" similar products but they didn't work nearly as well.

Well for starters it's illegal in any state to tint the wndshield except for the top 4-6 inches of the windshield and with no wipers, if you get in a accident in the rain a little more than the word f****d comes to mind. But that's your choice.

haven't you also said you don't/won't wear a seatbelt?

if you're not going to take advantage of all these luxury featuers, then why even drive?

(smiley denotes a joke)

a quick search finds:

New Jersey Tint Law Enacted: 2003
Windshield - No tint is allowed on the windshield
Front Side Windows - No tint can be legally applied to this window
Back Side Windows - Any darkness can be used
Rear Window - Any darkness can be used

can't find anything on the wipers yet, but i bet a law disallowing their removal exists.

Looks good. But if you get in an accident and they have to tow your car, your insurance may decline your coverage because the tint on the windshield is illegal. So are no wipers.

well the real luxury feature is the adrenaline you get.. driving at high speeds through a rainy night without a seatbelt, tinted windshield, and without windshield wipers... by the way if you look at my signature it says GSX-R 750 for a reason heh...

Scooter Ill post some good pics when I get a chance, I am glad you like it...

and fellas i guess i am a criminal.. should I turn myself in somewhere?

I kinda find it annoying that people tint the fronts, mostly because you can't make eye contact with other drivers, so you never know what they are doing.

No need. They'll be putting you in a body bag one day soon.

a cop on a routine traffic stop could make a killing..."we got ya for the seatbelt, the tint, and for no wipers."
