Did I pay too much?
Did I pay too much?
I purchased a 2006 Aero Blue Crossfire Ltd for 18999.00. I also extended my warranty for 72 months 75000 miles. After all is said and done I traded a '97 Mark VIII and got 3000 for my trade. The total amount financed was 19843.00 at 8.85% on a 75 month note. The car had 15,082 miles when I got it. I plan to pay more than the min payment. I feel like I paid too much maybe. I have never bought a car from a dealer before. I always bought from private sellers. The car is in very good shape and I really like it. Takes me back to the days of driving my old Fiero Formula.
Also, please be gentle.

Maybe???
I've got an '06 Limited Coupe w/ 14,961 miles that is Certified through Chrysler (8yr/80,000 mile Warranty) and sale priced @ $16,999. At the same time I don't know how much I could've given you for your '97 Lincoln. I think it was maybe bought a little high, but its anyone's guess what the market on these cars will be this spring. My guess is that they will creep up as the weather breaks this spring. The mass of used Crossfires that came into the market last summer won't happen again, and there aren't many new cars left. Time will tell.

Well, coming from another dealer...
I don't think the selling price is out of line. The prices vary quite a bit. You may have paid "a little" more than you should have, but not much. If you really like the car, then it's worth it right? Now, as far as the '97 Lincoln, it sounds to me like they broke the bank on that one unless it was 100% PERFECT with less than 100,000 miles. I would say the Lincoln should have brought $1,500, maybe $2,000. So, you probably paid $1,000 too much for the car, but got $1,000 too much for your trade, so it equals out. Don't worry about and just enjoy the car.

Re: Did I pay too much?
It's an ok dea for limiteds. alot of them are at that price in my area - about 15k-19k. You could've spent an extra $40 per month for an srt (if you like a stiffer ride, more power, and fixed spoiler). I think you couldve haggled with the dealer a little more. About the market condition, there was a flood of cars last year due to dealership leases expiring. Should be some great deals out there now and through most this summer. But honestly, leases and rentals scare me.

I would have loved to have had an SRT6. However, I knew nothing of these cars before I bought this one and so I did not know there was a Supercharged version of the car. In fact this is the first Chrysler I have ever owned. I only bought it because it was made by Karmann in Germany.
Re: Did I pay too much?
Welcome to the forum, enjoy your Crossfire.
As long as you aren't planning to part with your crossfire for a while (depreciation is going to be a problem for a while yet - you may be upside down for a while), don't worry about what you paid for it. You could have done worse.
Anytime that the "did I pay too much?" question comes up, just remember what you got for the money.

In this case, I'd be more worried about financing an amount that was more than the sale price of the car for 75 mos. at 8.85% than what the actual sales price was.
Are we not learning from the housing market credit crunch?
Re: Did I pay too much?
Up here there's an 06 coupe with nav for about the same price I think they're asking $18,900....has just over 10,000 miles but your interest rate seems a little high so I'm sure the dealer is getting a kick back from the bank on that. My rate is quite a bit lower at 6.19% and I bought my 05 roadster back in Oct when the rates were higher.
