Strangely, although the editor of this newspaper got the headline wrong (its not an SLK), the author got many of his facts right.

It basically is a re-skinned SLK.

No, it is not an SLK. Search the thread 'never call it a SLK again'. The Xfire is actually a unique creation using parts from the S, C and CLK models along with a unique rear chassis area.

The chassis, engine, transmission, interior layout, and etc. are all SLK; therefore, most of the car is from the SLK. SLK enough for me..
