Default Heated seat fix

Both heated seat bottoms not working, took it to dealer to fix it. They just reset the module and it works again. Do you know if this is a permanent fix? and what caused the module not working? and what module they are talking about?

Would be useful since I think my driver bottom heater isn't working. How much did they charge you to reset it

If you can wait until the march GTG, I will bring the DRB to the track, and I will reset yours, hell it's florida how often do you need it? I've used mine 3 times.

Is OBD and DRB the same thing? we need a specific DRB scanner to work on our cars? or does a basic $100 universial scanner can do the job?

I typically leave early in the morning for work when it's the coldest outside and it was pretty cold a couple weeks ago. I work in a 35-40 degree cooler so I like to be warmed up before I get in there.

The DRB3 withe the crossfire card , and the multi-plexar cable (I call it the German to English translator) Is what you need to scan our cars. No, a $100 scanner will not work.

Jackie, what was "reset" ??? My drivers seat is out and I would rather have the dealer try that instead of some marginal replacement.

That is good information, because both of my seats have not worked. Hopefully they can be reset also.

Cool Re: Heated seat fix

From what I have been told by my Tech is that the module is the problem. The module fails and causes the elements to over heat. Two years ago my module and entire seats were replaced under warranty, and I have not had a problem since. If your module was reset and not replaced, then maybe this is a new issue with the seats, I guess time will tell if it is a permenant fix.

Mine is at the dealer as we speak, my drivers seat did not work at all, and as for Florida being warm it gets very cold here in Silver Springs and is needed

So they reported that there wasn't any voltage coming out from the heat set module, and they reset the module with DRB III, and it works again. I don't know what they did actually and what those module means.

I took mine in a month ago without the drivers seat heating. They looked at it and said they would "order the parts". Still no word from them. The seat bottom does not heat but the back does. Oh well, not a big problem.

Thanks Jackie.

Strupgolf, I have the same issue, I really don't want them tearking into my seat to fix it.

If I ever get my car back in for the fix, I'll post the results.

So, resetting the module is not the cure, both the bottom heated seats are not working again. I'll bring it in to the dealer again this week.

my passenger side just died, gonna have to take it in, the good part is that the warrantee fix requires they replace the entire lower leather seat.

Mine has been in for two weeks now for a few warranty problems. Bottom seat heater being one of them. I was told they put new elements in both sides, but the driver side didn't work.So they said they ordered a whole "seat bottom" but they haven't heard anything on it yet. Anyone know what the whole bottom is?

I'm going to call the dealer again tomorrow to find out what the hell is the delay on "getting the parts". This is going on 30 days now and the last time they said the parts were on back order. I hope this is not going to be a problem in the future with these cars, since Chrysler had said "siainara" to this car.

Is there a way to reset the heated seats control module with out using the DRB III scan tool? Can just unpluging and repluging the harness reset it?
