Question Trans Weepage question

My auto trans does not shift as crisp as it use to. So, I am wondering if I am lo on Trans fluid...and I know there is no dip stick to check it.

For those of you that have had this problem of leaking Transmission fluid...I assume from reading the posts that most of the time...it is the o-ring plug problem. I have a couple of questions.

1. Can you see the plug where it leaks from looking under the car? Does someone have a pic they can post.

2. Is there a pan or shield that this leaks onto...or is it in clear view and just leaks onto the ground.

3. Also...does it only leak when the car is parked for a long time...or does it also leak when the car is running?

4. Is the leak a couple of drops...and therefore not obvious...or is there going to be a puddle...and if so...will you see it if parked overnight...or only after sitting for days...weeks...etc

Thanks for your help.

The leak will be redish purple fluid. There isn't a way to check your fluid without about $3000 in equipment. Give me your VIN and mileage, and I will check your warranty status, and check for TSB's. I think there are some updates for trans shifting, but I'm not sure.

Shawnkey...

I thought the o-ring being bad was for the crossfire...and the o-rings and plug together was for other chrysler vehicles listed in the TSB.

I would appreciate the updated TSB if you have it.

Also...I am still looking for answers to my questions on viewing the trans leak...that I put in my original post. Can you help in answering those questions? I would appreciate anyones help on this.

Also...I know about re-programming the trans to reset the shift pattern back to std..."the key on ...peddle to the floor, etc proceedure"...and I have tried that and it helps...but I am still concerned about a possible leak....because it almost feels like the trans slipping.

Thanks

Old man...Thanks for the TSB reference. BTW...how did you find the leak...could you see where it was leaking from by looking under the car? Did you actually see it coming out of the trans plug? I would appreciate any details you have on this....Thanks

Shawnkey...FYI...A clarification for you...I just looked up the latest TSB...and the one posted...rev A...is the latest one...and according to the TSB...only the 2 gaskets on the plug get replaced for the crossfire. The reference to the plug being replaced also was only for the Chrysler "Sprinter" vehicle. If a rev B exists...please post it. Thanks
