I went to the dealership this afternoon for what i thought was going to be a 22 dollar and some change oil filter..... then bam.. 39.46 is your total. i was like WTF... i just payed 22 bucks for one a little over 3 months ago. The guy said it due to an upgrade made to the oil filter.?? just wondering how much oil filters are going for these days at your local dealer??

Just checked the price at the parts counter, list price on a factory filter is $23.00. I'd probably stick with the factory filter, but I'm sure there's cheaper ones out there. You could also not use the recomended oil and save even more money! Then you could put on some 17" wheels and be able to save a bunch on tires! Run the old filter through the solvent tank, and then you could re-use it! Oh wait, just don't change the oil! That would save you the cost of the oil and filter!
