If all you want is the MB symbol on your key fob, that can be done easily.
There's a thread with pics on somewhere.
Ask an MB dealer!

No, but you CAN buy a Chrysler one from the dealer and pull off the Chrysler logo, and low and behold, under the stick-on Chrysler logo is the Mercedes logo imbedded in the fob!

Also, just to save you some time and effort, don't bother buying used key fobs on ebay. You can't program them to work with your Crossfire. You _MIGHT_ be able to program it to lock/unlock the doors, but it will NEVER start your car. Don't waste your money on ebay fobs. Just call around to dealers in your area and get prices on new keys.

Some may try to charge you $200 plus a fee to program it. You shouldn't have to pay more than $125 for a new fob from a dealer, and if they have any customer service at all they will program it for you for free. If they won't just follow the instructions in your car's user manual for programming it. It takes about 30 seconds. It will work because it was made specifically for your car (VIN number and all) - unlike the ones on ebay.

It's the same as the one you have now except for the emblem.

And that fact, of course, is the perfect analogy for the "pretend" threads running right now, isn't it? Just remove the Chrysler sticker from the fob, and what do you find? Nothing Mopar; that's for sure. Well, that's also true for all of the other Chrysler stickers on the car, too -- they are the "pretend" part here.

So, if I just peel off the Chrysler sticker it will look like a normal Mercedes key fob?

Is the Mercedes star painted silver underneath? Or would one from a Mercedes dealer look or be colored differently?

In other words, has anyone done this? Does it look good?

I don't think there is anything under the Chrysler emblem there is just small star logo on the inside of the battery cover.

No this is bullshit information! I have an old beat up key I was planning on swaping the guts out, so I just pulled the sticker off and NO there is no Mercedes emblem!

See post number 10 from this thread. Apparently some fobs have the logo and some fobs do not. The logo on the fob for my '97 MB E420 is exactly the same as the one in the picture, except that the fob is black, not gray.

Sorry fellas, I thought ALL of the fobs had the Mercedes imprint beneath the Chrysler sticker. My bad!

I noticed my new fob is a cheaper quality key compared to my originals that came with the car. I think the new ones are made by the new Chrysler and not from Mercedes Benz.
