Why Pretend?
Re: Why Pretend?
Could care less what the World thinks.
The Crossfire is simply an SLK with Chrysler sheet metal ...fine ... but Chrysler did a so-so job with that sheet metal. They should have invested a bit more creative-time thought to it. They did a great job with the butt-end, but just hung a Sebring on the front.
Alas, still a nice little car.

Re: Why Pretend?
IMO the issue is what and where to "pretend". Or actually state the case about the Crossfire's parentage.
Putting the 3 point star or implying MB on the cars ... I will never understand.
AMG on the SRT-6 ... jury's still out.
OTOH, "Body by Karmann" is perfectly OK as Karmann are a coachbuillder after all. GM cars can claim "Body by Fisher" . BTW maybe some lighted "Body by Karmann" lit door sills alolng the design of the Fisher labelled ones on the classic high line GM cars are in order.
The folks at windrestrictor dot com have said they're branching out to door sills soon and they make products for Crossfires ... hmmmm

As for the '6....yea, It's a Chrysler. That being said, I then say it's basically a rebadged SLK 32. And I have the SRT engine plate to minimize confusion.
