actually I've had my fair share of RX-8's on the street many times, and they are dogs. too slow and Ugly.

if you want back pain try sitting in a crossfire for more than an hour, lol you'll be screaming for the Toradol.

 

Slow, the AT's are, I guess...compared to the Manual, yeah. Compared to a lawlfire, no.

But ugly? Fail.

Or you might have run into WAR_CRUNK (tool), that's the only time I'd applaud a crossfire beating an 8.

Oh I know, I've test driven 2 different crossfires. I'll never admit it on the 8 Forum but I was closer to being a Crossfire owner than an 8 owner, in the end I just got a better deal on the 8.

Both cars look good to be, but the 8 just has a certain edge to it that I like more. That and it doesn't come stock with strakes (puke).

well I guess its time to dump the 8 for the SRT6, the strakes are a bit over the top, I'm working on a billet side strake that is thinner and not so showy. Though you have to admit the front fenders on the rx8 are a bit nasty looking.

 

Unlike the 8, the Crossfires haven't had their engines recalled. See: this thread.

 

The only thing ugly about mine is the right fog light has a crack in it and is all nasty and discolored.

I think the 8 looks generally good, I can understand why people would say that, but I think the car pulls it off nicely.

 

To answer your question in the thread, Yes.

I wish all car manufactuers gave me a new engine after driving the car around for ~ 20k miles for 3 years and did it for free.

 

Yeah that new renisis 1.3 l is a down grade from the "real" RX-7 motor, now that was a car worth respecting, this new rx-8 is total junk. I know little old ladies that can eat up the 8 in thier dogged out Carrollas and Civics. so sad what mazda did to the 7.

 

I think that's a bit of a stretch, the 8 is definitely a little slower than the 7 of course, It was Twin Turbo and wasn't toned down at the last minute to meet Emission regulations..

Toss some FI on the 8 and it's just fine. Atleast mazda gives you the option now of getting to go Supercharged or maybe Nitrous with the 8.

And as far as the 1.3L goes, they're upgrading it to a 1.6 pretty soon.

 

i burnt an rx8 a few months back starting with an entrance ramp and going onto the highway... what do you guys have a 120 mph speed limiter? that thing was slooow i think i could have beaten it in my silverado ... that's lifted... with 33's lol i do bow down to the twin turbo'd rx7's and hell the 13b's with single turbos, but an 8... hells to the no besides i know i can get a lot better women with the xf than "another import race car" as they like to say when you guys go by with your huge fart can hanging off the *** all tilted to the side and sticking out blaaah. yes i am a hater.

Oh noes a car with a 50/50 weight distrubition and was built for handling lost in a STRAIGHT LINE? And unless you're in an SRT-6, that means 1 of 2 things, the guy is a tool, and has no idea how to drive, or he's smart, and was just messing with you, or maybe you're a tool and though the was actually going to spend the time to race you

The thing I don't get is, you bow down to the Twin turbo 7, and a single turbo 13b, what about a single turbo 8? (It's 13b btw.)

The car has enough horse-power to keep your attention on the on ramps and straight aways, but it's all about the twisties.

And even if the Xfire was faster than the 8, who cares? Since when did speed alone purely make one car better than the other. I happen to think the 8 if more fun to drive than the Xfire, that for me was a pretty big selling point. Thankfully the 8 is faster and drives better, so I can't complain

I fail to see how straightline performance makes one car better than the other. Unless we're talking about Hot Wheels cars, because then you also have to take the looks into consideration, every tried to go around a corner in one of those things? They always flipped over when I tried

Man thank god I didn't settle on the Xfire, I was under the impression it was a sports car, not some glorified 2 seater Mercedes.

I was also wondering why you only wanted 1 girl with a fine *** in your car, but then I remembered you don't have an four seats like I do
