In my small town, Pop. 6000, there are 2 crossfires. Today, I and the other one were on main st. following along together. Both are red, and you cant tell which one was mine. The people stared and pointed towards us because they must have thought we were having a parade. Oh well, at least the people know.

Some posts you might enjoy reading:

BLACKSRT-6
Went for a cruise in the 50 deg cool night air yesterday. Rolling along at 60 MPH on an open 3 lane highway when a Cobra Mustang comes flying up from behind me. He slows to pull along side and pushes the issue. We take off together, the car comes alive and performs excellent. At 150 MPH I look to see that the Mustang is well back and falling behind. I slow and enjoy the performance of the car, the Mustang catches up and fly's by for a victory pass. I'm sure he was very pleased with his win, I know I was.

Last night was my fiancé and I's 4th anniversary. We went to a place called Eddie V's on 5th street here in Austin. They have valet parking, so I decided to partake. Well, they have a covered area for only 4 cars and then they park the rest of the cars down the street. They were parking everyone else's car down the street. Well, when I pulled up they guy goes, "Can I park it here, under the covered area?" Duh, sure! Well, in my car's company was (left) a BMW Z8 (freaking BEAUTIFUL) and (left) brand new Shelby Cobra. The Crossfire fit in GREAT! The best part was picking it up when we left. There was a bunch of people waiting to get there car and they all watched as I stepped into my beautiful car!

I'm a regular at Meguiar's Open Garage sessions at their company HQ, and starting time for these sessions is just as the employees are heading out at the end of the day. These people have seen it all, from high buck exotics to even higher buck concours restored antiques and one off customs from the best in the business. The first time I showed up in my Crossfire it drew an instant crowd with everyone commenting on how beautiful it was. Lots of "this is the first one of these I've seen up close and it's gorgeous" kind of comments. Gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling, ya know?

It actually looks as if I will be waiting a couple of months before I get mine. I decided it would be better for me financially, and I can probably get a nicer one. Since i'm a college student, it's hard sometimes to pay for things, and I don't want to wait until im older Just wondering though, the srt is better then the basic crossfire correct? I think I will get the SRT since im waiting so I can have that extra speed.

I leave it to you to decide whether this is actually a good thing or not, but my car gets compliments from drive-thru workers all the time.

The thing that surprises me about the Crossfire is epitomized by a recent experience (and it has happened several times). I’m in a store parking lot and an elderly person (most recently and elderly lady) – easily in their 70s or 80s generally asks one question 1) “what kid of car is that”; followed by “it sure is a beautiful car and I have never seen one before”. Frankly, I expect this kind of comment more from motorheads or other car aficianados, but when these kinds of non-car people say these things, it speaks volumes about the car.

I've had nothing but compliments since I got her, and it still feels good. There ARE however a few drawbacks:

1) You will find yourself spending way more time keeping her clean and polished. This includes protecting it from other cars and even your best friend if he's a slob. Plan on doing a lot more walking because you'll park it as far as possible from rustbuckets.

2) Distractions while driving. You WILL start to look around you trying to figure out if that Mustang is a Cobra or just a GT.

3) Notoriety. Every cop in 20 miles will get to know that car, just waiting for the chance... This goes triple if you go for the SRT-6!

Have a great time!

THanks for the stories and input guys, they're great. It sucks because I'm waiting a couple months for mine for that beautiful SRT-6, but hearing all these stories is just putting me on the edge, I want that to be me. hehe Question... is it a little harder to find the Crossfire SRT-6 with leather seats. I particulary don't like the suede, even though I guess it's supposed to hold you better while driving. I'm trading in my car now, and i've waited 5 years since high school to get a car with leather. Everyone else in my family has leather in their car but me. If you guys find any good deals around the Georgia area please let me know as well. Or any good sites for deal let me know. THanks.

The SRT6 only comes with the suede seats......On the other hand, I unknowingly bought mine with the leather seats from a limited! Apparently my seats were swapped at some point and i don't know why. I'm still pissed off about that, but anyway if you do find one with all leather, it's not stock.

It kind of sucks because I wanted the extra power that the SRT-6 Offers, but I also want the leather seats...!!!!

This might be a dumb question also.. but relating to gas...
The Crossfire calls for premium, i'm not really that car savvy.. I've never pumped premium. Is premium always the to the far right? It's labeled different at all places, supreme..etc.. god i'm an idiot!

Same exact thing happen to me. I was visiting a friend a few weeks ago, and while parking my car, an older woman pulled up in her car and starting
asking all kinds of questions about my Crossfire. Really did surprise me that someone that age (70ish) would be so interested, and complimentary.
I had only owned my car for around two weeks at the time.
I guess what everyone here says IS true.

don't worry about whatever the gas station calls or names the gas, just look for the highest number and push it, or if it is old school, pick up the nozzle from the highest number. anything over 91 octane is what your lookin' for. my crossfire is the best car i have ever owned. i traded my g35 in for it and prior i had an 'm' roadster. for such a nice car, it is considerably lower
maintenance than most equivelents. The biggest complaint in this forum is concerning lack of modifications. but i gotta say, a lot has become available just this year and i've already done quite a bit to my car and am getting closer to contentness, if that is a real destination.

My brother-in-law actually has the G35 coupe. I have to say it's pretty sweet. But honestly, for the money, I would say the XFire looks a lot better. Just my opinion though.

Also, another question lol, im filled with them, do all the XFire's come with the Crossfire written on the floor when you open the door, are they lighted? or is that modified?

agreed. the reason i traded the g35 in was it was too long to back out into my alley and turn (182inches as opposed to the crossfire's 159-160 inches). g35s are as common as vettes now. the new g37... nice. but same thing.
lighted door sills are a pricey option ($350 on ebay), but very cool. otherwise i think all crossfires have the normal door sill with crossfire written (??).

I was actually on my way to purchase a G35 when I bought my Crossfire. I was on the interstate and there was a spot where I could see 7 G35's at the same time. And it seems there's 5 on every street. I really like them, but man... I don't want to see my car everywhere I go.

As for stories: The first week or so that I had my car, I pulled into a convenience store to get some cash for parking in the city and when I came out there were these four older people (two couples) standing around my car talking about it. I thought that was kinda cool and when I unlocked it to get in they started asking about it. After all the usual questions, out of the blue, one lady says "well, it sounds great to me. Let's go!" and she jumps in the passenger side. I waved to her friends and said "see ya!" and jumped in and fired it up. lol She seemed like a really nice old lady, but I decided not to keep her and brought her back to her husband after a quick trip around the parking lot. hehe

Trust me, you will like the SRT-6 seats. They are not all Suede, actually they are not suede at all. They are made of a material call Alcantara, which is made in Italy and used in Ferraris, Lambos, Porsche etc. It's a synthetic Suede that is much more durable and doesn't "mat" down and require any real maintenance like real Suede. You see it used on Racing driving gloves, racing steering wheels and racing seats quite a bit do to its very soft and grippy surface. Only the Center inserts and the Shoulder areas are Alcantara. The Side bolsters and headrest areas are the same Charcoal Nappa Leather that is used in the Limited. Also, the side bolsters in the SRT-6 are much more aggresive. Between the deeper Side bolster and the grippy Alcantara inserts, it really holds in place in teh high G turns.

I really hate to do this, but should you really be getting an SRT-6 if you don't seem to really know what you're getting into at all?
