Has Anyone Had To Do This.
Has Anyone Had To Do This.
i called my local dealer today about my foggy headlights to see if they where coverd under warranty. he asked how many miles are on the car i said 22,500 and its a '05 so he said yea its covered till 3/36. so i said i'll bring it in. then he asked if i was first owner i said no so he said they would have to take a pic of the car and send to chrysler to see if it would be covered.
has anyone else had to do this?

Re: Has Anyone Had To Do This.
that's crazy. everytime i took my car in for warranty work they never took a picture. if your car is making a funny sound, do they record a sound clip??
that is the difference between chrysler and a mercedes- can you imagine mercedes doing that? i think we already knew this though.
when something goes bad with my car, i'm going to have to go to carmax for the extended warranty work- i've heard enough horror stories of that.
has any other manufacture ever taken pictures that y'all know of??

Re: Has Anyone Had To Do This.
Yes they do. I have 30k on my xfire and decided to keep it so I took it in for warrenty work. The cupholder broke, radio station #8 sticks and the black tape is bunching up (2nd time) where the top meets the paint. They took pictures of it all. They said that is Chryslers policy. I also heard them say that Chrysler is not covering anything for wear and tear such as "seats wearing out".
Has anyone else had problems with that black tape and if so what was your solution?

Re: Has Anyone Had To Do This.
standard procedure unless you have a cool shop your close with. In my case they did it without pictures but it took them close to 3 weeks to get the parts in. They have to take pictures of bigger problems like rims that also have cosmetic damage. I got a no go back from chrysler on the rims... bummer.
Re: Has Anyone Had To Do This.
Took both XF's in for some WW. The N/A for the common tranny leak and five days later fixed w/ rental cost on them. As for the S/C it was for the well known foggy headlight replacement. Asked if they could replace them during a service visit and the next day it was done.

Re: Has Anyone Had To Do This.
when i take my xfire to let them take pics i'm goin to also let them look at my inside door handle as the chrome is peeling a bit. i also noticed where the oil cap is there seems to be a small leak and my console is peeling to. the dealer also said there was a recall on the cooling fan has anyone else heard this.
Re: Has Anyone Had To Do This.
I had wear on my driver's seat, and for the first time in 3 years, and close to 20 visits, they had to take a picture of it and get the o.k. to see if it was covered. I have and "05 with 18k on it, oh please... I also had problems with my #8 preset, now I will be calling to see what they can do about it. I am on my second radio, they had to replace the last one because it was not readable during the day, too light to read.

Re: Has Anyone Had To Do This.
Took mine to the dealership yesterday to get the foggy headlight issue addressed. They didn't even look at them. He pulled up the TSB and said the parts are on order. I asked him if the headlights were going to be replaced and he said no. There is a new vent piece and seal that will be installed. The TSB said it could take a week or two before all the fogginess leaves the headlights.
I thought new headlights were supposed to be installed for this issue....not a one month fix that will break again....I could seal it better with my two hands and some duct tape...anyone???
