What a great night!
What a great night!
Last night was my fiancé and I's 4th anniversary. We went to a place called Eddie V's on 5th street here in Austin. They have valet parking, so I decided to partake. Well, they have a covered area for only 4 cars and then they park the rest of the cars down the street. They were parking everyone else's car down the street. Well, when I pulled up they guy goes, "Can I park it here, under the covered area?" Duh, sure! Well, in my car's company was (left) a BMW Z8 (freaking BEAUTIFUL) and (left) brand new Shelby Cobra. The Crossfire fit in GREAT! The best part was picking it up when we left. There was a bunch of people waiting to get there car and they all watched as I stepped into my beautiful car!
This goes to show me, yet again, that I have a great car. I am sorry if this sounds stupid, but it was the greatest experience I have had with my car. I hope everyone can appreciate that!

Reports like this - and there are several others to the exact same effect on the board, too - really make you wonder why these cars don't sell except at huge discounts. It's still one of the handsomest cars on the road, and with a tested royal bloodline hidden under that pretty skin. Maybe it's just ignorance from the general public, but the valets, who know cars, seem to understand...
Re: What a great night!
Nothing stupid about that at all. I think most people on this forum buy cars for a lot of reasons but one of the main consideration is for how the car makes you feel. It seems to me that everyone here has a crossfire because it raised some kind of emotion in them. If your car caused you to enjoy that evening out even more than you normaly would have than it did its job and your money was well spent. Otherwise you might as well have gone and purchased a hyundai... Good for you!!

Try explaining to someone that the car is actually a MB while it is being sold as a "Chrysler Crossfire." People will just look at you and think you're trying to be "high class" with a MB when you're not.

I've had experience with this also. I went to a local golf tournament and pulled into VIP parking. Was told this parking area was volunteers and other workers. BUT if I let her park my car, she'd park it in VIP. I said of course! Saved me a trip back to general admission (outside of the gate) and she brought it back to me when I was ready to leave!!

I felt the same way about Chrysler as you did Steenport. Watched the paint literally fall off my mom's K-Car wagon. I swore I'd never own a Chrysler. Then came the PT Cruiser and then the GT Cruiser. Never had one problem with either of those cars and personally I thought they were engineered beautifully and well made. Then came my little encounter with the Crossfire. I too still get comments, its an incredible car. Its the first car I've ever considered keeping. By the way happy anniversary, we are getting ready to celebrate #24 in a week but no valet for the Crossfire, I don't trust them. We will be taker our "beater".
