NEW 2007 Crossfires just under $21k
NEW 2007 Crossfires just under $21k
In the Kansas City area you can buy a new 2007 coupe with a sticker of $35,795 with $15k off or so the newspaper ad claims. They claim 15 in stock from $35,795. here is a link to their site. It only shows details on 10 Crossfire's.

A WORD OF CAUTION: This dealership was charging a double destination charge @ $925 although their current ad no longer states that. Watch out for some kind of dirty dealing & refuse any such charges.

He has 12 total coupes, roadsters and limiteds.
I just got off the phone with a sales rep. The dealership is closed and Kansas City has ice on the roads and an ice warning until 9 pm tonight.
Anyways, he was on his cell and could not give me exact numbers.
He did say it would be about 14k off of msrp of $36,895 and this was due to destination fee of $925 and doc fee of $250. The destination fee seems very high to me. This brings the car to just over $23k.
This is assuming his numbers from memory are correct.
Anyways, I told him I would be considering trading in my '05 limited and told him if he gave me some good numbers to motivate me to drive out and see him in person, I would.
The way I'm looking at it, if I could get out the door with one with $2k -$5k out the door, it might save me 'some' $ in the long run, considering my 3/36 warrenty will expire in May '08. I will be looking at an extended warranty for my '05 when it comes closer to the end of the 3/36k. The 2007s come with the lifetime/70k drive train and 3/36k warranty.
I'll post more when I know more.
Re: NEW 2007 Crossfires just under $21k
This is bullshit their ad states $15k off sticker on all new 2007 Crossfires. They are trying to double charge the $925 factory destination charge that is included in the sticker price. Let the salesman work up his best deal then refuse to pay the double charge & see if they let you walk. Ask them for a written price breakdown showing & describing the $925 charge. I doubt they will comply.
The corp. that owns the Lee's Summit dealership also owns the Olathe, KS dealership. I purchased a new 2006 Ltd. Roadster in May '07 and they pulled that crap on me without clearly disclosing the charge. It took a couple of months but the Kansas AG convinced the dealership to refund the $925. On the other hand the BBB is USELESS!! and let me repeat that USELESS!!

I would have though with the complaints and the question of legality about double charging for a item included in the sticker the corporate office would have changed this policy. Instead they seem to be concealing it further by removing the charge from the fine print at the bottom of their ads.

He said he can't count the number of times where customers have come in fuming about the recycled $925 delivery charge.
Anyways, when it is all said and done, your looking at a 13k discount instead of a 15k discount.
I spoke with Todd64 about these dealer cash incentives today, perhaps he will jump in and tell us all the in's and out's.
With the potential good buys out there, I've started salivating a little bit on buying a new XF...
Re: NEW 2007 Crossfires just under $21k
There is $10,000 in dealer cash + $2,500 in floor plan assistance on 2007 models. This money was given to the dealer after the car was ordered. There are NO 2007's left on open order at Chrysler. This is an issue if you ask a dealer to locate one for you. The dealer who went out on a limb and ordered half a dozen of these '07's probably doesn't want to give up all his money now by trading off the car he's made payments on for the last 5-6 months. So if you figure around $2,000 - $2,500 in profit + the $10,000 in dealer cash + the $2,500 in free flooring. It is possible that a dealer could sell a 2007 for close to $15,000 off of list. They then would be losing any money they spent on floor plan, + not making a penny off of the car.
Not the best practice, but it is possible. As for 2008 models, there are around 1300 Limited Coupes and Roadsters. All have Continental tires, and there are only a handful of 6-speeds. Chrysler is giving dealers that take one $8,500 in dealer cash and $1,500 in floor plan money for a total of $10,000 off. They still havent been released out of the National Distribution pool.
As for trade prices... Guys, its not cool right now. You should hold on to what you got in my opinion. The auctions are thin now, and it looks like the lease cars are back, and there won't be 10-15 a week going through the sale this spring. I really do think that the market has a chance to come back on these cars. There were a lot of dealers that maybe jumped in too late and are now just trying to get their money back. The economy is down, people are struggling. At the same time, I've NEVER been in a room where more people are so obsessed about price. We're dumping Limited roadsters w/ under 20,000 miles for $19,999! There are alot of great deals out there, but right now the market is full and half the country is under a Ice Storm warning. Its not the time to trade in your car.

Re: NEW 2007 Crossfires just under $21k
Well, I talked to a sales rep yesterday and today.
Yesterday they wouldn't give me numbers until I told them I was committed.
:P I told them they had no commitment from me, but I would be back tomorrow (today) to pick up my car from service AND if we got the right numbers, I'd buy a 2007 Limited.
Well, no suprise, the numbers didn't work out. lol
In a nutshell I told them I'd give them my car and $17k for a new 2007 limited. They didn't bite. (shrug). They were offering my $13.5k-$14k for "trade in" on my Limited Coupe w 20k miles.
Never hurts to ask.
