which cars can we beat, keep up with, smoke, or run from?!

Standard Elise: 4.6 to 4.8 to 60 mph. Standard crossfire? Isn't it around 6.4?
Quarter mile for standard Elise: Mid 13's. Standard Crossfire...mid to high 14's?
For a rolling start, the Crossfire will do much better because of its torque.
And when a turn comes up, good as the Crossfire can be, on any turn or twisty the Lotus is in a whole other class.

From a dead stop I know my 2004 PT Cruiser Turbo (with Stage 1) will walk my Crossfire. The PT has run 14.4 in the 1/4 in extreme heat on a very poorly prepared track at California Speedway. The Crossfire just isn't that quick. A bone stock PT GT Turbo would be a much closer match, but since the PT GT has the same engine as the SRT4 it has tons of potential and I know guys who are making in excess of 450 WHP and running the quarter mile as fast as 11.96 (this without nitrous!!!) Yes, PT Cruiser.
Now, a buddy of mine has a slightly modded PT that has been dyno'd at 254 WHP and 301 lb-ft at the wheels. He's also lowered it, beefed up the sway bars and fitted it with sticky tires as this is his drag and road course car. So we went head to head at Buttonwillow Raceway last weekend and I fully expected him to walk away from me on the straights and assumed he had more performance driving experience than I do so even the twisties would be a question mark.
Well...my corner entry speeds were higher than his, my grip levels were higher, and my corner exit speeds were higher. I followed him closely for a while, got around him, and just drove away. I was passing Mustang GTs, C5 Corvettes, 3 Series BMWs, etc. What a blast!!!

Re: which cars can we beat, keep up with, smoke, or run from?!
I had some fun with a Boxster S (295 HP) this evening on Decker Canyon Road. I was coming from the coast side and he was traveling on Mulholland Hwy on my left, when he saw me coming he blew thru the stop sign turning left so he could be ahead of me.
I stayed two car lengths back (no more - no less) the all the way to Westlake Village (a very, very twisty canyon road). He was a good driver, rarely on the brakes with smooth accelerations out of the corners. He was also in a suit so I am guessing he has home out there and knows the road well. Try as he did, he could not shake me. Just no place to pass. I did not want to ride his **** but I would not let him gain ground - just let him know he wasn't going anywhere.
He gave the thumbs up as he turned to enter the freeway - my windows were up (tinted way to dark to see) but I was thumbs up to.
Love workin' the AutoStick.

some of you guys (hddp) lol, need to leave your crossfires alone and maybe take up karting, this way you can learn how to really be a capable driver, and learn how to overtake higher hp cars.
maybe you should start here: http://www.worldkarting.com/

Hello all! I'm new to this Forum so first of all hi to all! own black crossfire 2005 Limited R have had it for two years, I can say this little cars are not good at drag racing, not at all, but you get out on the highway with one, the top end is great, was on I80 going west from Neb to wy and can tell you this car runs as well at 55 as it dose at 145 and it was pretty much that way for good 100 miles Evan had Maxima 3.5 try to stay with me but he give up at 120 mph. Now I know that 3.5 could beat the @$^ out me 0-60 But in the long run I own the road.
Re: which cars can we beat, keep up with, smoke, or run from?!
i dont know what ur talking about. i beat my friends 3000gt sl by a car. and i raced a 350z of the line and he only beat me by a car. my x-fire is bone stock too. my quarter mile is 14.6. not fast but hey thats what i got it too.

"It's not just about getting there, It's how you get there".
Way back, I had a original Shelby 350GT + Hurst. It was wickedly fast, and wickedly a pain to drive. The best thing about it is that when anyone talks about their testosterone ride I get to say " Oh yeah, let me tell you about a car I used to have" Owners of 912's, XK's, and MB 190's still looked down on my ride because they got something I didn't. (See quote above) They also got the good looking sophisticated gals in mini shirts, while I got the rambunctious ones in blue jeans. Eventually I switched from beer to wine, jeans to mini skirts, and brutal cars to refined automobiles. The Crossfire is a very refined ride. She treats me well, assures me I'm in command, soothes me with her purr, yet is still ready to get up and go when I want her too. She gets admiring looks, and even when someone beats her across a line, you know they had to work to do it. Smooth as silk with not to many quirks, she is always ready to please. And always puts a smile on my face when I touch her. All in all, she is like a date with a great looking spinner from a high end service at street corner prices. If you want beef, clip a coupon and wolf down a Big Mac. If you can appreciate some weinerschnitzel with a fine Rhine, along with a cruise through the Alps, the Crossfire will more than satisfy. Win or lose, in a Crossfire you do it with style. Bottom line is that at Crossfire pricing no one ever beats you!
