Want to rekindle your love for the x-fire, drive a caliber for a week!
fey folks,
had my alabaster coupe in last week for service and warranty issues, they had a mishap when trying to resolve the windnoise and so gave me a rental, a caliber for about a week.
got my car back yesterday, overall the dealer did a good job of resolving the issues (power mirrors not working, wind noise driver's side, rattle from hear hatch).
unfortunately, they appeared to have misaligned something around the driver's door speaker when they assembled the door back...so I will have to go back again as there is an annoying rattle now when bass is applied (this is good reason to thoroughly check your car when picking it up).
anyhow, the real point of this post is to say how much I appreciate the x-fire after having had a caliber a whole week.
the x-fire's beauty, power, handling and comfort were all that much clearer to me after the buzz and noise of the caliber...

Try driving the PT cruiser rental. I had it for a day and swapped it for a Sebring. Now when I go back I call ahead of time. I try to get a crossfire rental, but they are beginning to sell them off because of the mileage and age and Enterprise doesn't think they will be getting anymore XF's.

Here's a different slant. The first time I drove a Crossfire was a day rental in San Antonio. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it under the Hertz gold membership canopy with my name by it. And I had signed up for a "economy class" car! My 20 minute drive back to the airport turned into an hour and 20 minutes.
