Bad Things about the xfire
Re: Bad Things about the xfire
Interior console made by Mattel, stereo head unit unintuitive & no mp3 capability, no cruise control light, no lighted vanity mirrors & sun visors don't swivel (wtf?), the auto climate control should have a digital temp readout (the dots are just plain stupid), intermittent wipers should have more than 1 speed, requires premium fuel, fog light lenses crack if you look at them funny, no steering wheel controls (cruise/audio).
Still glad it's mine, though.

Other than that:
Audio system not up to industry standard for the segment
No auto dimming mirrors on 05's and later
No telescoping steering wheel
Old tech steering box, this car should have a rack and pinion steering rack
No standard or optional HIDs
Minivan style grille
Typical Mercedes lack of ergonomics...Cruise control stalk, window switches location...
Low grade floormats
and did I mentioned the great resale value...but I would buy it all over again no question about it.

Re: Bad Things about the xfire
Hmmm... Let me see here...
- Amazing color shifting wheels (Brake Dust)
- Cheap Headlight covers that oxidize before your eyes
- No Auto Lights
- No Auto-Up windows
- Poor Audio Headunit Capabilities
- Have to open passenger door to disable the airbag
- No HIDs
- No Boost, Voltage or Oil Pressure Gauges
- No Tilt Steering Wheel
- No Sunroof Option (first car I've had without one)
- Window Switch Location
- Climate Control has a mind of it's own (can't turn completely off)
- Annoying red glow from over-sized Hazard Light Button
- Headlight Switch that has more detents and positions than there are functions
- Cruise Control Stalk where Turn Signals SHOULD be
- ABSOLUTELY NO reasonable Aftermarket support for SRT-6 (exhaust, Intake, etc.)
Aside from those minor annoyances, I love my car. Then again I've only had it for two days, so I'm sure I'll find more things to not like about it. Surprisingly, I don't have any real issues with the cupholder yet (holds 20 oz Bottles Tightly).

Re: Bad Things about the xfire
Well the common ones like some others have stated...
- Cup Holder
- No Auto-Up Windows
- No factory Xenon
- No SRT interior Color Options
On the contrary I like the window button location, and I really like my Dealer...
But Most of all something that non one has yet mentioned is the illumination light... Green is just... not good... I would of much gladly preferred red...

I've owned various Mopars all my life. Now have a pair of Jeeps beside the Crossfire. I love my Crossfire but it is so obviously a Chrysler in name only. ALL the various interior controls are in different places and/or work differently. Headlights, wipers, cruise, remote mirrors, A/C heater ignition switch "acc." position and door locks all are "non-Mopar". Certainly reinforces the "little orphan auto" aspect...

Got a new bad thing. Lots of wind buffeting in the coupe when the driver's window is down. One of these days I'll drop both windows to see what happens.
If you really want to feel bad about the green dash display, look at the displays of Chrysler's other cars at night. They are absolutely beautiful.

Re: Bad Things about the xfire
I have yet to find anything truly annoying about my car - had it three days now - but I will admit the cup holder is extremely weird. It took me a day to figure what the heck it was for. My fiancé kept putting his cell phone in it.
The headlights do oxidize a bit, mine have a touch of the fade starting at the top. I know that can be buffed out since I did it with my ZX2, but I am way too picky about messing up my car to give that a try yet.
I actually like the display. My ZX2 was so boring, so this one looks awesome to me. The brakes do dust quite a lot but it just means I have to pay more attention to how her rims look and wipe them down. Kind of like making sure your babies nose is clean.
My Dirty Mary is sexy. I don't truly have a complaint.

Lol well warranty work is ALWAYS an issue. I have yet to find a car that doesn't give me issues when I try to work the warranty. But I have a second car - a Taurus - that I bought at the same dealership under the same warranty and it has been awesome with every issue we have had...hopefully it works the same for my Dirty Mary.
