Default Might be getting an 04' XF...

Hey guys, its my first post on this forum. so I'm planning on getting a 04' Crossfire in Blaze Red I believe. It has around 37k miles, and they are asking $18,570 for it? Is that worth it or should I shop around a bit more?

I heard that they came full loaded? But I'm not quite sure? I'll be going tomorrow once I get out of school to look at her, and see if I want to get it. Were there any recalls, or problems? Also what are their potential for modding them? To say a SRT6 or better performance base?

if you are planning on modding it for more power hold out for a SRT6 as getting power out of the NA V6 is too expensive and mainly custom as the only things available right now are a chip/exhaust for it that is good for probably 25 hp total ... after that any more power is either pure custom work or nitrous.

the price is not bad but could be better ... having said that, it is worth way more than that if you take into account what you are getting for the money. we got our 50k xf for $16k (few months ago) and i got my new base xf for $21k (year ago) if i remember correct.

if its a stick it can be made to run low 14s if its a auto just a tad slower than that ... this is with the mods available for it to the community right now anyhow. if this is enough for you then by all means get it ... otherwise hold out for a srt6.

Well I can get the srt6, but the thing is our insurance company might mark it down as a high performance because when I was going to get a Lightning, but the interest rate from Ford would of be 26%. Which would be too expensive for us. So hopefully tomorrow when we call, and ask about if a srt6 would be able to go down as a sportscar over a high performance vehicle.

Where are you located? In SoCal I was amazed to see there was no premium added for the SRT6.

I'm located in Northridge, CA. I would love to get the SRT6, its just that since its Supercharged, and plus its the SRT package. My insurance company might mark it down as a High Performance Vehicle, and sky rocket our monthly insurance payments.

from what i have heard the insurance is not too bad on it as the average owner is a older and more responsible type ... vs cars such as the SRT-4 / EVO / STI which have the highest rates right now.

Well I'm 18, but the vehicle will be going underneath my brothers insurance whose 21, and has had a very clean drivers record since 17 years old. And also my mothers insurance. The thing is that Ford was charging a interest rate of 26% towards the F150 Lightning, which would really affect our monthly insurance fee, plus the monthly fee for the vehicle.

The asking price on that is too high. You can do much better.

If it is a two seater it will be classified as a sports car. I do not think there would be much difference if it were an SRT6. And I agree that $18 k for a 2004 is too high, especially when new 2006 base models are on Ebay are selling for less then $20k.

I think you can go lower. I got my 2004 with 24K miles for $17,900. A 2004 is the same as a Limited in 2005. There's also a base model for that model year that comes with minimal options.

Hopefully our insurance company doesn't mark the SRT6 as a "High Performance" vehicle when my father calls to ask. Because if it doesn't go down as that, I'm sure I'll just be getting that. But I don't want high hopes, so I'll just look into the standard XF. Also it has factory navigation, and fully loaded. What exactly does this "fully loaded" consist of?
