Good stuff.
I had similar times with mine 14.9 - 15.1
The 60' is not so good but the car really wakes up after that.
Damn I want gears...

Numbers are very similar to my trucks.
Manual or Automatic transmission?
How did you improve the et your last or final pass? I'm thinking a 3.73 or 3.90 gear would really help the 60 ft time and 1/4 mile et.

my god thankfully the car feels much faster than that cause that's the speed of my stock 1999 Dodge Neon, DOHC 5 speed... hell, a ACR neon would whip this cars ***... mmm thankfully i bought it for everything but the straight line performance.

You are insane if you think a stock 1999 Neon runs high 14's/ low 15's.

The Neon would be lucky to scrape off a high 16 second 1/4 run.

And ACR Neons can only manage a 16 flat 1/4 run. Read here if you are still in disbelief or confused:

The final run was later in the evening...much cooler temp. Also my reaction times were getting better. I have a great Idea for the intake. It will be totally custom and will require some trimming of the air box, but should look pretty cool. Im installing NX Express also so I should be able to shed 1 sec off.

umm i may be insane but i have been driving one since 99 and a stick shift dohc runs high 15s ...
visit neons.org for over ten years of accumulated information from neon enthusiasts ...

2,450 lbs + 150 hp + 3.94 geared 5 speed = pretty quick for a economy car
not to mention handling that put miata in second place in SCCA when the came out ... great little cars.

really please do visit the site to get a better idea of the car ... back in '99 i ran 15.2 - 15.4 in my fully loaded R/T model (100 lbs heavier than base ... and even more so than a ACR) at Englishtown, NJ's Raceway Park every other week on test and tune days ... and this was on all season 195 width tires that hooked like crap and me being a new driver all together ...

oh jeez... even better ! you post specs for a 2001 ... that's 2nd generation neon that weighs minimalistically 300 lbs - 400 lbs more than a first generation and utilizes a magnum 2.0 that has active manifold, anti friction coated piston skirts, and a aggressive cam to provide a 150ish hp at crank ...

compared to the 2.0 DOHC in the 1st gen (95-99) they where ok engines but the weight of the 2nd gen killed the performance...

mmm nice try but you just don't know what you are talking about here ... don't be hurt cause its as quick as the automatic XF ... its still a much nicer car in general.

my friend ... my first car ever, a '95 neon with a 3 speed automatic 2.0 sohc ran high 16's... with 70,000 miles on it ! hahaha.

i understand you have the idea in your mind of what a neon is but its not your fault its just what you see on the street is these 3 speed automatic neons not stick shift ones... different car altogether between a stick and auto...

careful there ... if at any time the stability management program modulates throttle (traction control being off ... which it never really is in this car due the stability management) while you are spraying, you may make some windows into your combustion chamber ...

i would look into a window switch for sure to make sure the system is only capable of spraying between 3k - 6k.

also if you can find a way to have the kit monitor the ASM to shut it down when it is going off or monitor the absolute throttle position to make sure it is at wide open throttle... should be easy just time consuming.

PS ... i think its great you are running the crossfire ... both thumbs up on having the ***** to go with the nitrous setup with as few people as we have that have done it.

i rented a neon once like in 2000, and they do have a suprising amount of kick. it won't handle for crap, because of the extremely skinny tires on the model i drove. but like in a 1/4 mile thay arent as crappy as you would think, and it gets up to 100 pretty quick.

I highly doubt it. My car before this was a 2003 Ford Focus ZX3 5 spd. That car had a great manual tranny and weighed 2,500 lbs and it still would only run a high 16 1/4 mile from the factory, and that was with 130 hp/135 tq. Even with intake, header, high flo cat, flex pipe, cat back exhaust, underdrive pulley, ported throttle body and a chip the Focus would still only run mid to high 15's. You seem to have a warped sense of what a Dodge Neon can do. I've driven RT and ACR models and I still think they're pieces of ****. I don't know what an auto crossfire runs, though I do know that the difference between my 6 spd and my dad's auto is night and day.

Blade doubt it all you want ... i won't argue what i've run in the past with you over the internet ... i'm the one that owned three of these cars over the years, have modified them silly, raced them till i got bored ... you're the one that has not owned one but insists what it can or cannot do.

Real world experience Vs Prejudice based on your opinion of "a piece of..."

Anyway, enjoy your XF and back on topic i guess...

Wow! I find the ignorance here breathtaking. A first gen 5 speed DOHC Neon will run anywhere from a 15.8 to a 16.2 in the quarter, depending on the track, altitude and the driver. The 3 speed autos were major dogs, but the 5 speeds will easily embarrass many of the "it's just a neon" haters. It didn't take a lot to get one into the high 14's low 15's either. Plus, even stock the neon was a great handler and a properly driven ACR would show its *** to a crossfire in an autocross with little trouble. I love my Crossfire, but i respect what a Neon is, and can be made into with not much $$.
Best of all, it's NOT a damned HON-DUH!!!

i'll look around for my timeslips ... i know i kept them ... worst time i ever ran with it stock was a 15.8 bogging off the line with a 2.5 sixty foot time. with 2.3 sixties on all seasons (that was all they could hook) i was running 15.2 - 15.4 all day ... with falekn azenis tires and 2.0 sixties i was so close to high 14s that it was painful ... the car was modified after that so i never got to try and break out of the 15s stock...

driven very relaxed i am sure it could do 16+ in the 1/4 ...

Blackbelt, you are right about the automatics ... only thing that kept my 95 decent was the cam that came with the sohc that year, later introduced as the mopar performance cam, and lack of any sound deadener for weight savings...

Maybe if the neon driver was a pro and the crossfire driver was a one armed orangutan. I have no doubt the ACR is a better handler than a stock neon but I think your statement is taking it a little too far.

I find this most entertaining, so any body got actual lap times? or is this just a to b straight line runs, yawn. Kinda like NASCAR boring.

Uhhh yeah, but its a Neon for cripes sakes. LOL.

It could be as fast as the speed of light and all you still have is a fast POS. Enjoy.
