OK, then it sounds like there are two species of alarm speaker floating around. Would someone with a non-chirping alarm volunteer to pull their speaker and check the part #? I would do it myself but I'm out of town on business.

Did anyone ever check these part numbers to see if they were different?

I know this sounds strange, but would anyone be willing to make a sound clip/video of their alarm chirping/beeping? It would be very much appreciated by me, and other forum members.

This what the Tech Said should work, as far as re-programming the ECU. I have an appointment Monday @ 0830. I will let you all know how it goes.
I just spent 2 hours at a dealer with their OBD computer and this instruction did not work. The alarm works fine and is very loud but there's no "EDW" selection on the main menu so the tech can't get in and change the country code to The Netherlands. On the main menu there's an "alarm system" selection but it does allow the "variant coding" needed in the above instructions. I have a '05 SRT-6, thanks.

Ok, this is getting a little frustrating. Has anyone found a solution for the NO CHIRP issue. I want a beep, chirp, burp, belch, something. I'm tired of trying to listen for the hatch to lock or pushing the button multiple times to see the lights flash...

I too spent a good hour with a tech at my local Chrysler dealer when I had one of my free oil changes done and the instructions above are no good. There is no EDW selection on the main menu. I used the dealers computer to get the code off the forum and stood over the tech while he looked thru the menus. No "EDW" It almost sounds like the horn/speaker might be the issue. It also sounds like we might be making some progress. I'm going to look at mine I'll note the part number on my non chirping horn ASAP.

Well, if it's just a different part number that they are replacing under warranty, I'd be willing for my alarm speaker to have an "accident" in order to get the chirpy one...

I'm so glad mine doesn't chirp. I think it is very annoying, especially GM cars, extremely loud.

My alarm had worked in the past, and never beeped or chirped when armed or disarmed. I get my car back today and I now have 3 very soft beeps when armed and 1 soft beep when disarmed. Very Cool...I cannot give the tech's name that worked on my car because I do not know it, but someone at Huffines Chrysler 972-867-6000 knows how to make it work. I do see on my service order that the alarm siren 1028006, FP number 5124443-AA was replaced. I do not know if those numbers will help, but I can confirm that my factory alarm now beeps/chirps when armed and disarmed.

Good Luck All with getting yours to work too!!!
I'm at a dealer now and have discovered there are 2 siren model numbers. The original number is 5114340AA which came from the factory. The new number is 5124443AA which is the same as mentioned above that has a chirp according to BLKFIN.

Hey Scotto97:

If you buy and install the newer siren let me know if you get the chirps. I was going to pull of my cowl but after looking at the service manual last night I decided to wait until the weekend since its fairly involved. If the new siren works I'll just take it off when I do the swap. I just called my local dealership and the price on the new siren is $76. FYI.

Thanks,
GassGhost

Great! I'll sell you my old siren for a spare when I replace it!

Gassghost,

Please let me know the result when you change out the siren. Does your dealer have one in stock? They said it would be a few days to get one here in Vegas. When are you planning to install it?

My dealer will also have to order one. I have a few other things I'm working on right now so it might be a couple of weeks or so for me to try the experiment. I will however report back on this thread as soon as I do the swap. If anyone else get to that before me please report your findings.

Thanks,
GassGhost

I recently tested my alarm by using the panic button and found that the sound was loud, but not especially loud, and kind of sick sounding. I'm not sure if it's defective or meant to sound like that.

Took my XF into the Dealership in Montgomery, AL Gave him the parts Number,5124443AA, on this thread about the chripping siren, when locking the vehicle with the remote. They stated that, this is the number of the siren alarm that is on my vehicle. And that they couldn't replace it with a another siren that wasn't the original, under the warranty. Could have the numbers been turned around on the thread before this with the numbers--5114340AA {nonchripping}and 5124443AA {chripping sound}?

43AA is the higher and newer part number. Did the dealer physically look at the siren and get the 43AA number off of it? Dealers can be lazy - I'd look at it myself to make sure it's not the older 40AA part number to confirm.

The dealer just told me it was the same part number I gave him and I gave him the 43AA number. I'll have to take a look at it myself. One of the mechanics I talked to, down talked the Crossfire vehicles. This was the first time I have taken my XF in to them and the last. His remark to me was that his dealership doesn't sell these things and never will. I just reassured him I like my XF and have been satisfied with it. We'll be moving on from here to Florida in a month and will see if I can get something done down there. Thanks for the response.

I've spoke with two different mechanics at a couple of dealerships and one of them definitely didn't like the XFire. Some of it may be resentment that it not a real "MOPAR" vehicle. These guy love the HEMIs (American muscle cars, ect). and don't like the import status of our cars.

I've made an appointment with my dealer and will pose it as a challenge to make the alarm work as it should.
The Panic button doesn't work and the wife insists that it does.
The alarm works (open door or glove box when armed: Siren).
Arm or Disarm: Nothing.
The Manual states:
"The antitheft alarm is armed within approximately 10
seconds after locking the vehicle. A blinking light in the
tow away alarm switch indicates that the alarm is armed."

I don't know about your guys, but I don't want to wait 10 seconds waiting to see if a 1/16" diameter LED blinks. This is crap. My dealer is in Auburn Alabama and I've run into some VERY lazy folks down here. But I'll say one thing, the Service Manager thinks, as I do, that the xfire is one of the prettiest things on the road.
I'll post anything I learn.

Thanks for keeping this string going.

According to my dealer they can't / are not allowed to change it to the Netherlands because it interferes with USA safety directives by messing with the air bag deployment system when it is changed to another country???
