What's in a name?
Re: What's in a name?
Well... I used to game pretty heavily and almost went competition with my Weapons Factory team (Quake 2 days). LAN Parties (many geeks together with computers in the same house hold or other venue, networked together for nearly zero lag).
But, alas it was not to be...
My gaming group, know as a 'gaming clan' or 'clan' on the net is know by the initials MMZ.
What does 'MMZ' stand for you might ask...
Monkeys, Midgets and Zombies.
Why 'Monkeys, Midgets and Zombies' you might ask...
Because any of these three things make a movie better.
As to the last part of my handle... I was 'Scarecrow' when I was a kid and on C.B. Radio a lot. As I got older I really enjoyed the Tom Baker rendition of Dr. Who... and so I started using the handle TimeLord.
I'm still in my gaming clan... but rarely have time for anymore LAN parties or serious gaming... it's just something my wife and I like to do for fun. (Primarily City of Heroes/City of Villains).
Hope that's as clear as the Mississippi River.

Re: What's in a name?
In the 80's there was a terrible movie called skyfox.
I made an even worse game for the commodore 64 based on the movie and called it stryfox.
My buddies made fun of me for it in the "remember when" conversations.
Now anything related to computers I use stryfox as it reminds me of the "old" computer days.

Re: What's in a name?
With Grand Daughter in my lap, and after doing some Honey Do's around the house, I simply asked her; "What should my name be"?
She looked down and spied a Hammer sitting on my desk, pointed and said: “Hammer... Grandpa...Hammer”!
Well, let’s just say that I didn't feel like playing a rendition of "Hammer Time" every time I logged in, so we both compromised on “XFireHammer”.
And I bet all you folks out there thought I was a sexy 20 year old stud with a Crossfire and Big Hammer!
Now that you know that I’m just an old fart who is silly enough to let his Grand Daughter choose a name for him… Who is next to spill his/her guts?

My name IS my name. It's Greek and translates as Anthony.

Well I am a private pilot (who desperately wishes he could go pro) and I have wanted a Crossfire for about 3 years and I promised that I would get one when i bought a house, graduated college, got my commercial pilots license and could afford to pay cash... Well I was downsized last spring from my job so the last two looked out of reach. Until I won mine in Dodge/Chryslers RideDriveWin event! So my name is to pay homage to my Pilots Aspirations!
Re: What's in a name?
Well, I got my name, when I left my hubby at the car lot! The salesman asked him where I was going, since I left him to drive my old car home.
Hubby told the salesman, she's gone cruising... My parents use to put on custom car shows for 40 years, I had been called Cruiser since I first learned to drive. And we always cruised after the car shows were over. Loved those Custom Cars, lol.
