Finally getting this ball rolling
Finally getting this ball rolling
Hello All,
I haven't posted for some time, though I'm reading threads at least every other day. Well the good news is that I'm finally getting things rolling on putting my hands on a Crossfire. I recently switched from the National Cancer Institute into a private bio-technical company and am in desperate need of a car upgrade. Tomorrow I'll be meeting with a friend of the family who owns the local Chrysler dealership and putting him on the trail. Ideally I'm looking for an 05 black limited 6 spd, or maybe even an SRT if one can be stumbled on to for the right price.
If I ever had any doubts about getting this car, it was a sign from above this morning that took them all away. So I'm driving to work in the boat I call a car, just imagining how much nicer things will be in a Crossfire when I look across the highway and do a double take as a silver roadster goes the other way. Now that may not seem such a big deal to some, but where I live that was honestly about the third one I've seen since they came out 3 years ago. I simply took it as a sign that I must have this car. I'll keep you all informed as the hunt heats up!

Good to hear! If you can deal with not having a manual. Get the SRT-6. There was only 2016 SRT-6 Coupes and 983 SRT-6 Conv. made. Some people complain about the stationary wing but it doesn't bother me! There is a couple nice SRT-6's on ebay right now. Also look on autotrader.com It is an amazing feeling when you hit the gas and that "AMG" supercharged engine throws you back in your seat!

Sounds like you are in my neck of the woods...keep me posted. Got mine at Courtesy in Rockville which is now a DAR Cars location. I hope their service isn't changing, it was always pretty good. DAR runs hot and cold. I had a PT bought from Fairfax Chrysler Plymouth which was also a DAR location and the techs used to let me watch them work on my car when I brought it in. They were good, the Toyota dealership in Silver Spring is the opposite, horrible!
Good luck with your search.

Good luck with your purchase... cause once you get one it's all you think about!

Well I met with the owner of Tate Chrysler tonight after work and things went even better than I had expected. Let's just say that I am now the pround owner of a brand new 2006 Crossfire Limited that is exactly what I wanted; black, dark slate interior, and a 6 speed! I haven't laid eyes on her yet as all his inquiries were made with his guys over the phone, and all the financing has yet to be finalized. But he's having it brought up....this is going to be the longest week or two of my life!

Good to know about Courtesy. I'd go to the dealer owner on that one. No excuse and that's what scare's me about these dealerships, you get 1 clown who doesn't care and they screw your car up. I have to have an oil change done and I'm dreading taking it in. My son and I were talking about buying the gizmo to do it at home, might just do that instead, the less time my car sits in any dealership the better. 04Fire I know how you keep your car, I'm the same way and what they did to you would drive me nuts. Any resolution to that issue? Please let me know.
Crossfire Kid let us know when you take delivery. You would have one of the first 06's around here. Check the 10th number of the vin, should be a 6. If it a 5 then its an 05. be careful.
