I just noticed that the driver's seat cushion is spring loaded but the passenger seat cushion is not. I have been driving the car for 4 days now and I thought the bottom cushion is loose or rocking a little backward everytime I hit a bump or rough pavement. When I got home I pushed on the seat cushion to check for looseness and lo and behold the seat cushion is spring loaded. Does anyone else have this?

Nope. My seat is solid. Doesn't move at all.

Ok I went out and checked it again in case my seat is just loose or broken which would be a safety concern. I moved the seat all the way forward and moved the seatback forward....stuck my head down there and I an see two springs with rubber bump stops at the rearmost edge of the seat cushion......right where the seat cushion and seatback meets. The movement is not much......half inch maybe......but definitely I can feel the bottom of my butt sinking in when the road turns rough.
Did they make a change during the year? My build date is 9/04........anyone else has this?

That is an 8 way seat - one of them moves the back of the seat. Mine does not move unless I press the switch. Is there something wrong with your 8 way?

I don't think there is anything wrong with the driver seat......there is definitely springs at the rear edge of the seat cushion. There is even a rubber bump stop inside the top of the spring. And the movement I am describing is not a backward/forward motion or side motion but a definite up and down "shock absorber" motion. I'll try and post a pic.

Yes, the driver side is an 8way and the passenger side is only a 4 way. But the switch will only "move" the rear of the seat in a tilting adjustment.....not a bouncing motion. Doesn't anybody have the springs in the rear of their seat cushion? I was trying to add to the best features of the xfire and I thought everybody had this feature.

I just purchased my 2005 SRT-6 40 miles...(last week)

when driving home I noticed the same thing - the rear of the botttum seat cushion dropping out ? thought maybe its a power adjustment ..was not
(I am small too 5-7 130)

Got home and checked it out , in additon to the power adjustments...
it is spring loaded (two springs) in rear
I can take my fists and push it down.. (unlike the passenger-rock solid)
checked passenger side - solid as a rock - and also has the springs in the rear..... the passenger seat has the baby seat bracket two loops facing forward and one loop facing to the rear - funny this bracket is welded
and appears to keep the two springs fully loaded ??

You can see the springs are fully loaded (compressed) on the passenger seat
and unloaded (not compressed)on the driver / not sure if it has to do with the 4way vs 8way

I told myself after I drive it a little more ...play with the adjutments , I would do something about it , I have made an appointment with the dealer for evaluation ( I dont like the motion as descibed by calsxfire, exact same issue)

Thanks L1-S1-SVT, I was beginning to think mine was the only one that did this. But unlike you I kinda like it and that was why I posted it as one of the best feature of the xfire. I have not checked under the passenger seat to see if there are springs there too. If there are springs I would look at it more closely to see if there is a way to maybe release them so they are unloaded(not compressed)

ps. Congratulations on your new purchase!

The Umbrella Hook is for the loop at the handle end of the umbrella. It is not for the actual handle itself.

One thing you all missed, turn off the passenger side air bag and you have a family car, my little guy and I go every where, get a few looks, but that's what the car is for... seat has the rings for the baby seat designed in, the little two button strap on the back of the passenger seat is for the teather of the larger baby seats...now that's features in a Crossfire.

I use the unbrella hook formy baseball cap to clip on. I use it when the tops down, now that it is winter, I clip it there until spring so I do not loose it.

Had mine for only a short month now and would have to say I wish I were still in the military stationed in Germany.

Talking Re: Xfire's Best Features

You guys have missed one of the biggest pluses - the free luggage set! With matching wheels and splines. I was surprised when mine showed up about two weeks after I bought my '04.

For the poster that was looking for where all the splines are:
Hood, Roof, Rear Wing, Back Bumper, Front Bumper & Grill, Shift ***, Center Console lid, Dash (shape of outline), Engine cover. center top of steering wheel (I think).

Another thing I love is the large spoke openings on the rims. If I'm careful of the brake caliper dust cover, I can clean the entire inside of the rim. It makes for a much better look.

As for the "cup holder" - it is the one flaw I can't stand. It's more of a "Don't touch the passenger you perv" device that pops open every time you reach over with a loving touch.

Oh - and for the "Unless he's gay" poster - When my wing pops up it shows my little rainbow sticker :-D
