Quote from a movie (forgotten the title though)
"Don't make the wrong wish. You wouldn't like it if your wish came true."

Don't know if anyone has posted this (and frankly to hard to determine that) but the fact that with the 6SP when you set the cruise control and then up (or down probably) shift, the car dis-engages the cruise while shifting and then re-commits to the previously set speed in the new gear (at a lower RPM if up-shifting). I have never owned another car that does that and I like it. The car doesn't treat you like an idiot (which most American and litigious afraid) car companies do.

Some of my favorite little things about my Crossfire so far:

Unlike most American cars that I've had (and a few Japanese) after 36,000 miles my windows still roll up and down quickly and quietly. Like they should.

Also... I love how the gas cover locks with the doors.

The rear wing going up at speed and down when slowing down.

The radio sort of fades from station to station when I change from one preset to another. That seems kinda cool. No beeping. No obnoxious jump from one to the next. Just a nice, friendly fade.

The stock radio doesn't fully suck.

My side view mirrors show the beautiful curve of the car down to the wheel wells. That's an awesome view, really.

Getting complements from Porsche owners. I was driving in front of a boxter today, and I could see the guy driving it was trying to keep up with me. When we came to the light (red), he gives me a thumbs up, and yells " hey man, nice car" . He just kept looking at it.

That my friends feels G-R-E-A-T. Unless he was gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I personally don't like it, and I can't think of a good reason for it. I've never set my CC in any gear but 6th, and why I (or anyone) would want to downshift while maintaining a set CC speed is beyond me. I think it's a potentially dangerous flaw that necessitates an extra step (canceling CC). Just my .02

Presumably, if you were downshifting and not also hitting the brake, you weren't trying to slow down drastically as much as perhaps you just selected the wrong gear. Whereas, if you really WERE trying to slow down drastically, you probably hit the brake, thereby disengaging the cruise control anyway. No extra steps necessary.

But I don't know any reason to downshift unless one is about to change speed.

Yeah, it seems like it would be a rarely used feature. But at least not a liability.

Corners like a cat on a carpet! Outstanding bang for the buck. High quality, and you don't see a dozen a day.

Did they not produce a lot of crossfires/year? I find that when I take it out, lots of ppl ask me what kind of car it is before they see the chrysler emblem. I thought I had read that they only produced about 12,000 in N.A. a year is this true? Why is it that I don't see any on the roads? (though it could just be the city I live in, I think there are only 3 of us who own one).

Because they didn't sell many. The company ruined any chance the car had by not promoting it well. To screw up selling a car that draws gawkers and questions wherever it goes takes the geniuses at DaimlerChrysler.

That's sad. Though in a way I'm happy it's not a popular car. I like being part of the very few who own one makes it much more special.

I read on wikipedia that they halted production in 2007. The last model was 2006 is this true as well?

I don't know if this qualifies as a Best Feature ...

The other night at golf league I passed a Blaze Red roadster just before turning into the parking lot. When I finished league there sat a Blaze Red XF next to my Alabaster White. She got out and introduced herself ... now that's a feature.

Checkin' In From Tampa Everyone!!! It hot and Rainy!!!

It's funny you say that because I have gotten several compliments from people who thought it was a newly-released Porsche. I was driving up I95 through S. Carolina and I had a woman (who was rather attractive, who looked to be in her low 30's might I add...and 2 kids in the back seat) playing with me on the interstate. Me, driving like I'm always in the Gumball, I would speed past and she would eventually catch up and pass me once I slowed down and merge right in front. She was giving thumbs up and her 2 kids were practically jumping up and down in the back seat. LOL I had to pull over for gas and she followed me, introducing herself and complimenting the car. The first thing she asked, "What kind of Porsche is that?" I let her and her daughters sit in it and push some buttons. LOL We ended up getting back on the road and it wasn't long after that it seemed she and I had gathered some followers...it was a pack of people following me. Some would pass and thumbs up, then I would pass them again. They'd just keep up with me, even at times where I was being a bit ridiculous with speed. This went on for several hundred miles. Good times. Most memorable trip in a car yet! People think I'm crazy for driving such a far distance (1,900 miles in 1 day) in such a small car. I just look at them, remember my experiences on the open road, smile, and say "It's all I need for just me and one bag." I would do it anytime!

What does everyone think about a Crossfire Cross-Country Rally or something like that?

Not only is your story wild but your numbers are wild too. I don't know if I care to drive cross country with you if you're driving 1,900 hundred miles in a day. That's an AVERAGE of almost 80 MPH over a 24 hour period. What about food, fuel, sleep and an occasional rendezvous with attractive moms traveling alone with their kids, pulling over to make small talk with single guys in their sports car. Nope that's way outta my league!

if we were to arrange a crossfire rally, definitely wouldn't be any ridiculous distances like that...i pushed it that hard because i wanted to see how far i could go before exhausting myself. a rally is meant to be fun. drive a couple hundred miles, stop & party, or something to that extent. pick a few big cities or destinations and go. meet some momma-dukes', get to know the crossfire community, all that stuff would be thrown up in the mix. what would be REALLY neat is a crossfire rally through europe being our car is only known in a few places.

as far as my little adventure, it was a round trip from tampa to dc back to tampa to pick up a friend who is a helping a buddy with a truck delivery from california. drove from tampa to dc, picked him up and made it all the way back to the outskirts of gainesville, fl. before I pulled over and called it a day...i just couldn't do anymore, that was about 1,700 miles (according to google) so i was off a little bit. As far as food and sleep goes, it was a one day thing...a crazy weekend adventure. didn't really eat except for whatever i could grab quickly from the gas station as i filled up. i had to hustle because original plan was that we rendezvous as both of us pulled into DC within about 15 mins of each other...we had it pretty close because we both compared info on our GPS's as to when we would intersect based on distances still to travel and estimated cruising speeds of a crossfire vs. a volvo vt880 w/ a full load. i was hustling because i was running behind and had to make up for lost time. and small talk with momma-dukes was no longer than it took to fill up and grab a water from the cooler. i wasn't there to meet new people, i was on a mission and i was determined to beat my friend to dc... lol.

after all that hustling, speeding, and killing my gas mileage, i arrived 35 minutes after him. yes, its a wild story, but i absolutely love to drive. especially long trips...give me a crazy deadline to meet on the road and i push to beat it.
