I just don't think it is needed. I understand Dual climate in vehicles like Yukon's and vans but why in my car where I'm a foot and half away from my passenger...

Thumbs up Re: Xfire's Best Features

My best feature is almost everyone who comes up to me and talks about it wants one. About the only one who didn't like the XF (so far) is the tech at the local dealership who "hates all those screws" on them LMAO!

Now, if only they (DC) fixed all those little glitches better, I would not be having that "*****-nilly" fan running at all different speeds problem.

Tomorrows 8am appointment should conclude (for now) the *****-nilly fan speed crisis. They are putting in the new(?) heat/ac control head.

OK, here is one Q (might be a feature might not) that I have been unable to answer. Whet is the second pull position on the light switch? The first one is the fog lights, second one doesn't seem to do anything. Its rather annoying, so I just click out one pull to turn on the fog lights (might be something I don't want running all the time, or whatever.....

Wink Re: Xfire's Best Features

Wow, that is too cool... This forum is such a wealth of information! Now where can I find the termination points for that wiring? Or is it just dead-headed in the light switch? Would it be nice to know if a +12 switchable point is available for anything in the future?

NEW FEATURE! (possibly, hehehehehe) A switchable point at the light switch that you want when driving with the fog lights on. Maybe for another set of accessory lights or such to 'enhance' your presence on the highway? Big plus would be you can quickly turn em off when its not appropriate.....

I got dibs on this one if it comes to fruition!

(I forgot, must share the credit with stryfox for telling me about its function. Without that knowledge, I would not have had the "idea") Kudo's stryfox!

Ability to drive 820 miles in a day, get out of the car, and not be sore anywhere. Did the same in a Fiero, an X 1/9, a Lincoln MKX, Cadillac CTS, Mountaineer, assorted mini vans, etc., and other than the CTS (which was comparable), none of the other cars compare for touring.

P.S., Getting a license plate that says, "This Is My Other Car"

Well I must mention the wonderful CUP HOLDER that we all love and adore!!!! LOL

Also, the hidden coin compartment in front of the ash tray, which I don't use for coins I use for $5.00 bills, which I fold up to fit in the coin slots then if I need some cash and have forgotten to go to the instant banker, I have at least some!!!! LOL silly I know, but works for me. Never know when ya might need that hamburger fix!!!!

Update, the +12V off the light switch at "fuse 12" (the second fog light position) it is not there. The fuse (#12 according to the service manual wiring diagram) isn't even addable (is that a word?) its not cut into the assembly. They must have two distinct part numbers for the domestic and export XF's with the export model having that fuse 12 output for the rear fog light.

Haven't given up though, will have to look over the lamp module real closely to see if anything "connects" to that switch position (the second pull of the fog light switch position).

Love playing with this car!

Did I mention? I know I said something about it somewhere... I use the cup holder for holding my glasses case. It fits perfectly, and they are right there whenever I need them.

My best feature submission, a glasses case holder (formerly the dreaded cup holder).

I finally found a good use for the hooks behind each seat. One for hanging an umbrella and the other for gloves during the winter or ballcaps for the summer.

I hear those clips behind the seats ARE the clips for an umbrella, page 123 of the 2008 owners manual.

There are about six of these lighting modules, each for different markets. I suspect that it is the fuse panel on the module that is changed, the basic switch itself being common to all units. The fuse panel has the unit part number on it, no part number for the basic switch visible, probably hidden by the fuse panel when it is in place.

The fuse panel for day time running light market cars has a relay mounted in it, you can hear a click when the lights come on.

you are getting to be a lot like Gary, digging up old threads.... I read thru the beginning of this, and realized, these people really didn't like the features in the XF at all.... 80% of them are gone...liars...
