Default Repair list - warranty

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone attempted to put together a composite list of repairs that have been done to crossfires? Also, it would be great if this list contained how frequent this repair has shown up in this forum...maybe buy people voting on the list and someone compiling it.

An example of this might be: (not real numbers...just an example)

Problem # of crossfires Warranty Repair
having this problem Done

1st gear 25 yes - 20
headlight condensation 15 Yes - 8
Radio 32 yes - 28
Transmission leak 12 Yes - 10
Heated Seats broke 38 Yes - 20
Rust under door 50 No - 50
Roadster Top Problems 10 Yes - 8

This would also greatly help people trying to make a decision on buying an extended warranty or not. It would also be great ammunition when going to the dealer to have your problem fixed. All this information is already buried in all the different threads...just needs to be sorted out.

Thanks...Comments appreciated.

Here is a list you can start with:

- glove box lock fell out the first time it was opened... replaced lock
- radio had dark display... replaced radio
- power window switches operated backwards... told it was normal operation, reversed switches myself
- transmission popped out of 1st gear... could not duplicate, but still replaced the transmission
- wind noise both side windows... adjusted weather strip, adjusted glass
- spoiler squeals when deployed...removed and lubricated spoiler
- low pitched noise coming from the rear of the vehicle above 60 mph... replaced rear differential
- top radiator hose chaffing... replaced hose per recall #D11
- rear hatch rattles... adjusted bumper stops, replaced latch
- rattle from right heater vent... tightened vent outlet
- right side lower A pillar seal does not fit properly... replaced seal
- driver's window squeals when lowering it... cleaned and lubricated regulator
- passenger's door rattles when closing it with the window down... reinstalled loose regulator
- vibration/rattle coming from rear of car on moderately rough roads... could not duplicate, no repair made
- rear hatch bumper stops wearing through the paint... told it was normal wear, no repair made
- drivers seat bottom heater stopped working... replaced seat bottom

What's wrong with my Crossfire now;

Darts to the right whenever the right front wheel experiences loss of grip (manhole covers, potholes, snow patches etc.) 6 dealer attempts to fix with no improvement.

Driver's door pops partway open. 6 dealer attempts to fix with minor improvement.

Driver's door rattles loosely in doorframe and moves around perceptibly. 6 dealer attempts to fix.

Wind noise from driver's side window. It used to hang up on the rain gutter and was remedied per the factory bulletin after the fifth complaint but it still doesn't fit right.

Road noise from driver's door. 6 dealer attempts to fix with no improvement.
Loud creaking noise above rear bulkhead when car encounters uneven road surface.

Rear end shakes from side to side at idle in warm weather. Dealer can't duplicate this problem.

Has occasionally popped out of first and third gear. Dealer can't duplicate this problem.

Loud ticking noise from engine when cold. Dealer doesn't perceive this problem.

Passenger's door doesn't close all the way.

Road noise from passenger's door.

Wind noise from passenger's window.

No heat in driver's footwell unless all other heat is shut off. Dealers say that's normal.

Rattles and squeaks from instrument console. First appeared after dealer replaced instrument console to fix clock.

Air temperature gauge reads about 10º high. First appeared after dealer replaced instrument console to fix clock.

Screw fell out of instrument panel after dealer replaced instrument console to fix clock.

Driver's seat bottom heater doesn't work. 2 dealer attempts to fix, still doesn't work.

Driver's window rattles loosely in track. First appeared after factory bulletin fix.

Driver's door inner panel rattles and door handle has gap around it. First appeared after factory bulletin fix.

Center console rattles.

Clanking noise in body above rear bulkhead.

Heats up too slowly, as if the thermostat is stuck partly open. Recent development.

Ashtray has to be pulled open.

Driver's door handle handle insert stands proud of door panel. First appeared after factory bulletin fix.

Panic button cover on key has disintegrated.

Purchased new in March 2004 and now has 24,845 miles on it.

Hi Crossfire members,

I posted this to first see if a list already existed of problems people are having with their crossfires. If a list does not exist yet...I do not mind compiling one if everyone will answer this thread. If this is the case, please include the following information.

Car type and year - Ex...2005 limited roadster autostick

Date purchased

Build date

Build number

New or used - and mileage if used

Mileage on car now

List Problems you had and at what mileage if possible.
Was the problem fixed under warranty - Yes or No.

To John Webster and Ben47 who have already responded - Thanks.
Can you add the info asked above if it was not included? Thanks.

And Sorry you had so many problems!

Andrew...I have had only a few responses to this thread...

Can you tell me if there exists a list of Problems owners have had and whether they were in or out of warranty? If not, is there a way to sort this forum's database for the information and present it?

Thanks.

I think this picture of my Crossfire key is indicative of my Crossfire experience;

DSCN3286.jpg

In the three years that key has been riding around in my pocket the cover over the panic button has been worn away.

I bought a wonderful car that I really enjoyed but it started to have problems which the dealer couldn't fix so he told me to go away. I contacted Chrysler who told me to try other dealers. They told me to go away. I contacted Chrysler again and they told me to take the car back to the original dealer. I did and they did more damage than they fixed. The owner told me to contact the Better Business Bureau. In other words; I've got your money, screw you.
