Just discovered a feature

Call it just lazy. My wife has already given me grief about it. In my daily life it just happens that the first door I open is the hatch, be it to put my brief case in, get my discs, put my horns in or out when I gig, etc etc. I DO understand the reasoning behind the security feature. I chose to bypass it.

John Webster, a good thing about a wall phone with a cord is you never forget where you laid it, and you don't have to replace its batteries either.
That dial must be a real pain though when you get a hold of an "automated" operator that's always telling you to "please press #1 now".

John, we must be new age luddites. Even though I work in the tech/on-line business, I still have all cord phones, (recently bought a 1940's phone with rotary dial - weighs a ton) and actually enjoy my trips though NJ where they still pump your gas!
Re: Just discovered a feature
On my crossfire the hatch and driver door open with the first push. I too almost always put something in the back before I get in, so this is fine. Since I leave for work alone every morning NOT unlocking the passenger door with the first push seems to make sense to me.
I've disabled the horn report when locking, and I have to admit, that unless I hear it lock, see the lights flash or see the locks go down I do a double take to make sure it's locked.

Thanks.

Re: Just discovered a feature
This was discussed a while back. In a nutshell, there's no way to do it on the US models. There appears to be a software setting on some of the Euro-spec models (Finnish or Norwegian comes to mind) that allows this feature to be turned on or off, but it requires the DRB-III to set.
