Let me get something straight...
Re: Let me get something straight...
I have loved this car since it first appeared as a concept in 2001. That's why I've bought two. To me, the fact that the Crossfire uses tested 3.2 litre Mercedes technology is a plus, not a minus. Sure it might not have all of the electronic bells and whistles that come with new models today (and at a price), but the engine and drivetrain are proven winners and are in use in hundreds of thousands of vehicles around the world. Frankly, not too many other cars can say that -- and none of them can beat the world-class looks of the Crossfire.
Re: Let me get something straight...
OK so you have read a few of my threads... GREAT, that is the reason I post them here... people need to know there are Crossfires with problems, and if you get one do not be looking for help from the dealership or Chrysler, you are stuck with it...
Now here is how I feel about my Crossfire... I do not love the car, I hate it, because no matter what I find wrong with the freaking car, or no matter how insulted I feel after dealing with Chrysler, I cannot disown it. Playing with this car is like a kid who just discovered video games... the Crossfire is a nightmare, there is no way to drive it slow or not feel comfortable when you pull up next to a muscle car at the red light (you really are not required to test the Crossfire, by God it’s a Crossfire)... so the bottom line with the Crossfire is you are cursed if you buy one... never test drive a Crossfire and if you feel the need to purchase one quickly drop to your knees and start praying to your God to delivery you from the devil, for once the Crossfire is in your blood, your soul is in the car.
I REGRET THE DAY I EVER SAW A CROSSFIRE!!!

Re: Let me get something straight...
FirebaseD until your last post I was afraid we had lost you to the other side. You know those that either didn't do their homework before they bought their car or are possibly missing a chromosome that causes them to become quickly disillusioned, like kids do. Glad to see your still with us.
dontlietokids.net I would say the majority of the owner's DO love their cars. There is only a small fraction out there that were seduced by the Crossfire's looks that blew their wad for looks instead of performance who are dissatisfied now. Most of us bought the car knew what we were buying, a very stylish touring car with above average power and handling built by Mercedes Benz. Some may have spent more, but most spent under $30K and I am probably one of those at the top end spectrum; I spent $29K in April 2004 which included the extended warranty. I have no regrets about buying the Crossfire and I have no qualms about the deprecation it is no worse then many of mainstream cars we have owned. Besides the uniqueness factor far makes up for any deprecation, we still get people that pace us along the highways and ogle the car at rest areas.

1) You don't think the car is worth much?
2) They aren't selling off the lots like the 300?
What else?

I sold my Boxter S and purchased my new Crossfire just over a year ago. I've owned several sports cars and would rate my Crossfire at the top. It's one of those unique cars that everyone wants to have. Just look at it... It's BEAUTIFUL, POWERFUL, and handles like it's on rails. There is just something special about this car that other sports cars don't have. In a word ,it's called STYLE.This car is a keeper and I don't plan on selling it... ever! Yeah, I LOVE IT and ALWAYS WILL.

I did tire of it quickly (2 years) but I think it is an OK car. If I survive my property taxes and income taxes I believe my xfire will become a Vette in the spring!
Re: Let me get something straight...
I purchased my XFire one month ago and I couldn't be happier with it. I LOVE this car. I love it more everyday. I love it because I bought it for a ridiculously low price (ironically, the same reason others hate theirs). I love it because you never see them on the road!
I came THIS CLOSE to buying a new Mustang...thank goodness no dealers had the one I wanted in stock!! Soon afterwards I discovered the XFire and it was love at first sight.

There is another forum, or should I say community who just loves their Crossfires.
In fact they have a very active group who get together periodically to drive.
Most of these hookups are on the west side of the US.
Technically we are not allowed to mention the other forums URL's here.

Re: Let me get something straight...
Let me first say, I love my Crossfire. It is true that I do have my issues, but my issues are with my dealer and not the crossfire. I've owned it for over a year now and still, when I walk through the kitchen I will open the door to the garage just to glare and admire it. Again the cars great, but the dealers suck.
On a side note, that other crossfire community thats on the net. I don't like it so much. I live on the East side of the country and they live mostly on the west and I find the forum right here to be more than helpful.

For some reason I find this discussion very interesting.

Stupid stupid heads. I buy my cars to drive them not as investments. I'm on cold medication so excuse my silliness but you get the idea. there are tons of awesome things that crashed and burned because of the stupid sheep I like to call the general public.
But on the flip side, if everyone had one it would not be special to me. So meh, who cares what sheep think.
