2007 Crossfire review
2007 Crossfire review
Here is a review on the 2007 model of Chrysler's new Crossfire. You can read about the design and the engineering of the car, and also view a nice photo gallery and intro movie.
"The 2007 Chrysler Crossfire comes with a unique monochromatic look. Its sleek, modern appearance, which is as distinct as the car itself, is given by a mono-tone Bright Silver Metallic exterior point scheme..."

With comments like this:
Why on earth does this car not do better in the market?? It just does not make sense to me!! In one breathe they say how great our cars are and in the next they bash it!
Dynamically measured, the Chrysler Crossfire Coupe has a body structure that is twice as stiff as a Porsche Boxter and as stiff as a Porsche 911. With this technical achievement, the Crossfire Coupe demonstrates sedan-like ride comfort, without sacrificing the handling characteristics that true sports cars require.
More torque (229 lb-ft) is offered by the Chrysler Crossfire Roadster compared to the 192 lb-ft of the Porsche Boxster and the 214 lb-ft of the BMW Z4.
Re: 2007 Crossfire review
As we all know the 2007 is the last year for the Crossfire...but I was thinking, if Chrysler did give the green light for the "Firepower" but can't use the name, why not call it Crossfire. It has a unique design for a sports car as a coupe (and possibly a roadster).
With that, Chrysler can solve the name game and suddenly our cars no longer become orphans but instead just become the "older model".
Of course Chrysler would have to do a better job of marketing (I am sure they would) and the new grown up Crossfire could even say it has a HEMI.

Name and Snob appeal with BMW/Porsche vs Chrysler...
I don't mind having a "one of a kind" car that everyone wants to know more about.
I must also agree with the poor marketing of this car by Chrysler. When I was car shopping, I drove to a dealership near me and asked about the Xfires they had on their lot. The sales guy laughed..literally laughed in my face! I was taken back by his reaction, and put him on the spot by asking , "why in the world would you react this way to a question about your product?" And he said, "We can't give these cars away, lady!"
NIIIICE! I promptly drove down the street and bought mine from a different car dealer.
Bash away!

Everytime I get "dissed" by a dealer and I wind up going elsewhere to buy my new car, I make sure I return to the original dealer and let em know they lost out.
(Ooops...can I say dissed? )
Re: 2007 Crossfire review
I find this whole Chrysler marketing screw-up intriguing. This car is very sexy and a lot of fun. We all have experienced the head turning and hearing nice comments.
All I know is that I bought a beautiful sports car, which I can't seem to get enough of at a fantastic price. Who knows, they did not produce that many, and if 2007 is the last year with no imports in 2006, this car may very well become a classic. In any case even if not, most of us got a lot of BANG for our buck.

Re: 2007 Crossfire review
I fail to see the "sleek monochromatic look" other than the last photo of the Base Coupe, which looked like that in 2005! The photos show the same light silver window trim, the same grille, the same "side vents". Maybe its just the color making it look monochromatic. If the base coupe did not exist, I would likely be blacking out my X-fire like that, but now it just makes it look cheap.
Re: 2007 Crossfire review
Has anybody seen Chryslers advertising for this car? LOL me neither. But when I do see it has the same stupid happy music as a Town and Country commercial. What morons. The music should stir you, it should move you.
This car is menacing and you could do some awesome commercials. Look at Infinity's or Porsches advertising. Always with passion, always with a slight smirk on the lips. Telling everyone "Yeah, we're badass and you can be to"
Instead we get minivan commercial. Incredibly dumb.

Maybe the 2007 Crossfire is available with "front wheel drive" for us Northerners to handle the snow.
Ooops...I didn't mean to offend any "Northerners" who know how to drive in the snow with RWD...(P.C. apology #004)

Re: 2007 Crossfire review
Since the older slk is the frame on which this car is built on and we all know that our engines are MB, it would have been nice if they used the new slk 350 motor in the 2007 crossfire. I don't remember the numbers but I believe the engine is a 3.5 liter V-6 and it produces 270 hp and 260 torque. That would have added a little more power to the crossfire before it gets it farewell. But I can also understand not wasting the money on changing the engine for the last year of production.
Re: 2007 Crossfire review
Its posted everywhere on this site that 2007 is the last year - do a search and well, its a sad reality... no more Crossfires...
If anyone is lucky enough to find a 2007 on a dealer lot, I'd love to see a picture of it sitting there because both dealers in my area are not going to add any to their existing stock because they STILL have 2005's sitting on their lots!! With that being said, if you can get a deal on a 2005 that has been sitting and the dealer replaces the tires, oil, etc... why would you want to dish out the extra dough for a newer year? Besides being able to say you have a 2007 or color preference or those little minor changes they made. I am sure financing would play a part in not being able to get the older car... but still...
I think it will be interesting to see how many of the new models sell, won't it???

Re: 2007 Crossfire review
Yes, I know. I see it all over this forum, but when I look for this type of information from Chrysler or all the auto research sites I find nothing. Not that it bothers me a whole lot. I sort of like the fact there aren't too many Xfires out there, but I haven't seen anything on this topic.
